It all depends what you are after. Hotels in Paris are expensive, and if you go by the Euro by square meter (or $/sqf) you want to cry. I accept to give up on size when I am in Paris but become very demanding on all the rest. With that respect, Hotel Emile is a great value for money.
On the Plus side:
Modern and tasteful decoration, fun bathroom setting (you have to be a little open-minded). Good if simple breakfast. Great location in the Marais, steps away from St Paul metro station and a cab station. Affordable restaurant with young atmosphere next door. Despite the small room, you'll find most of what you need, including enough space to put your clothes and suitcase (not a given in Paris)
On the Minus side:
Very small elevator. Host at reception desk not particularly friendly.
