“Room with a View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2014

We had a room with a outstanding view of the Eiffel Tower ~ what a lovely hotel in Paris. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in Novemer 2013. We enjoyed chatting with the owner and he made many wonderful recommendations for dining and sight-seeing. We liked this place and would stay again. It is close to the metro, Rue Cler, Eiffel Tower and restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms on 5th or 6th floor for a view of the Eiffel Tower

We stayed there in mid-November, something of a last minute couples trip. We had stayed before about 2 years earlier, but the place has had some renovation done since then. First of all, great location. Metro around the corner, an easy stroll over to the Eiffel Tower which we took advantage of every night. Stayed in room on 5th (maybe 6th) floor overlooking courtyard; room was somewhat small, but very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Eber and the staff were always very attentive and helpful. The lift was a bit of challenge given its small size, but we were told that its next on the list for reno. It was our second stay and it has always met our needs as a comfortable and convenient spot for seeing the city.

Room Tip: If you want a view, ask for a room facing the street otherwise all you'll see is courtyard and w...

This is a very nice hotel conveniently located near the Eiffel Tower, metro and Rue Cler. The owner is very knowledgeable about places to eat and gave us advice how to get around Paris. The rooms are small but we don't spend much time in our room when we travel.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend of 6th December 2013. Absolutely gorgeous!
Lovely staff, spotlessly clean rooms and fantastic location. Only 'Gripe' No coffee/tea facilities in the room - Which is just odd! - You can though order coffee downstairs.....Large jug for 8 Euros! Other than that perfect!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in August 2013. We booked an inexpensive room that was a bit small but satisfactory for us since we didn't plan on being in it all that much. About an hour after settling in, the manager came up and offered us a larger room for no additional cost. We moved over. They have an elevator but it's small. OK by me since we really only used it to transport our luggage. We took advantage of the free breakfast in the morning and management offered much information each day with regard to our plans.

We left early in the morning for the train station and breakfast wasn't ready yet but the manager fixed us up himself. We liked this place and would stay again. Across from the metro and close to Eiffel Tower, river and restaurants.

Room Tip: Street room is best.

Me and my husband visited Paris last month - September 2013. Eber had good reviews here so we finally chose it as our hotel. The location is fantastic - the area is my favourite in Paris (the 7th) , very quite, very well located for visiting all the main things. Lovely restaurants around the corner (one of which was visited by Obama on his last visit to Paris). Don't be put of by the fact that it faces quite a noisy street. It is super-quite after 12, we were wondering why! The room itself was on the top floor because we booked a room with Eiffel Tower view. The room was good - decent size, clean, bathroom was a shower-only but looked fantastic due to a large window leading to the balcony. It was a massive plus for us. All the usual things for Paris, i.e. thin wall etc were there. But it's Paris, that's normal. The elevator could fit only myself - so tiny it is. Mr. Eber himself was as quite polite but typically arrogant French person which is fine with us, it's an important part of Paris' ambiance. All other receptionists were nice and friendly. There was a bit of a mess in a hotel lobby a couple of time looking like a spring clean in September but we didn't mind. Haven't tried Eber's breakfast because I liked little french bakery around the corner from the hotel.

Room Tip: Do choose a room with Effel Tower view

The only thing that this hotel has going for it is the location.

If you are willing to compromise on comfort and service then this is probably the place for you.

We recently travelled throughout Italy, France and Spain and this hotel was by far the worst that we stayed in.

The lift is the scariest thing I have done in a long time. It only holds one person and this is claustrophobic. As the lift ascends the cables scratch the side of the car and it clunks as it goes past each floor. Very unnerving. Not at all pleasant. Only used it once and then used the stairs for the rest of the holiday.

While the rooms were clean they were pokey even by European standards. When using the toilet you have to open the door to be able to stand up. The shower is so small that if you drop the soap it is an effort to pick it up.

I found the manager to be unhelpful and unpleasant. We were given wrong advice by the receptionist and she was rude to us also.

We stayed at this hotel as part of our final week in Europe and it was to be a treat for my husband and I for our 25th wedding anniversary. What a mistake this was.

I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

Very very disappointed.
