“Lovely Stay”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

I had a lovely time at Hotel du Champ de Mars. The hotel is charming and petit. My room was small but comfortable. The bed was great. The rates are amazing but the locale is unbelievable.
Relaxing at a cafe on Rue Cler is as French as a tourist can get. A true mix of visitors and locals.
Outstanding experience.

A wonderful, quaint, small hotel in a sensational location. Rooms are well appointed and very quiet but extremely small. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. This is a residential neighbourhood and we loved sitting over our coffee watching Parisians as they went to work, shopping and to school.

The hotel is a few steps from Rue Cler with it's fabulous food - patisseries and much more - and many restaurants and bars. You'll also find a wonderful patisserie on the corner of Ave Bosquet. There are supermarkets close by and there is a very large supermarket in Ave de la Motte-Picquet.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower through gorgeous residential streets. At the Tower, you can also access buses (hop on, hop off) and the bateaux boats. You can easily walk to Les Invalides and on to the Champs Elysees. The metro is a 5 minute walk. We found this easy to use when visiting Montmartre.

Just across from the hotel is a fabulous cafe, Cafe du Marche. We breakfasted here each day - and even had lunch and dinner here on occasion too. Reasonable prices, good coffee and a great place to sit and observe and relax.

Hotel du Champ de Mars is wonderful. It's location is perfect.

My husband and I have been home for a week after a trip to Italy and 4 days in Paris. Rick Steeves recommended this hotel in his book. I choose this hotel over others due to the proximity to the Eiffel Tower. Not only was it only 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, but it was in a great neighborhood for dining and market shopping-fruits, small groceries and chocolate. The hotel was quaint, loved the spiral staircase and the bathroom had modern fixtures. Francoise, Stephan and Nadar were very pleasant and provided helpful tips for our stay. I would stay here again if I found myself lucky enough to be in Paris again.

My second stay at this hotel. Superbly located. Pretty rooms but very small. Tiny in fact! No coffee or tea in the rooms. I think this hotel is over priced for what you get. The price is purely for location and no more. A pity as they could do so much more. Front desk staff also not too friendly.

This hotel was recommended by the Rick Steves' Paris book so we gave it a try. It's cute and quaint and in the middle of a thriving residential neighborhood with a bustling and delicious market. There are good restaurants at your door step (and a few that cater to tourists so ask reception for recommendations) and after a week stay here we felt we had found a home! The rooms are small but we'll designed . Although there is no air conditioning our room had three windows which gave a wonderful breeze that was more than sufficient. The room and bathroom were modern and spotless. My father stayed across town at a name brand hotel and after seeing ours regretted his decision. There is a generous (by French standards) breakfast available for 9 Euro, though even better deals can be found in the neighborhood's many restaurants. The hotel is two blocks walk from the Ecole Molitare Metro stop, a ten minute walk to Hotel Invalides, and three blocks from the Eiffel Tower. We will certainly be recommending the hotel and returning.

My husband and I really enjoyed sitting outside at the numerous cafes right on this lively street. We stayed for six nights and this is a convenient location, close to the Tour Eiffel. It's also nice to be around the corner from the metro stop, Ecole Millitaire. Only negative is that our room was on the third floor and it is extremely noisy until the wee hours. There is no a/c, so not having the ability to open the windows makes the room very stuffy. The room was clean, as is the hotel lobby. This was our first time on Rue de Cler and we enjoyed getting to know this part of town. We did ask for a room change, but that was not possible.

Room Tip: I would definitely request a room not facing Champ de Mars.

My daughter and I were spending time together in Paris and luckily for us she booked this charming boutique style hotel in the Champ de Mars area of Paris. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was lovely and looked out to the back of hotel so only sounds in the morning were the birds. The bedroom's size was what we expected for Paris but perfectly adequate for all our luggage. Beds very comfortable and the bathroom shower excellent. The owner speaks English but it is appreciated if one at least attempts to speak the lingo. The Rue de Cler is a lovely area full of great places to eat. The metro station Ecole Militaire is just around the corner so our trip from Gare du Nord was really quite easy. It is a lovely area to walk around with the Tour Eiffel very close by.
We would strongly recommend this hotel and send our congratulations to the owners. Bien fait !
