There is no better home base to feel stylishly Parisian during your stay. While the room was compact, which is typical in Paris, or so I've found, the room was decorated really nicely, with fun wall paper and chic decor. The extra touches Hotel Thoumieux offered, like biscuits in your room on arrival, a high powered espresso machine in your room, and Aesop bath products, really made our stay feel special. The neighborhood is very central and a great place to explore Paris for first timers (or 4th timers like us). Plus there are a number of cafes and cute shops right outside the hotel. Even though the room was small, some well planned organizational spaces made it workable for us, like a cubby by the bed and built in closets.

There are only two improvements I'd like to see for this hotel that would put it to 5 stars for me. 1. Security- As a small hotel, at night the desk didn't seem staffed. However, there were also no security measures like a door buzzer to stop passers-by from coming in. Keys were stored right behind the desk and someone from the street could have entered our room un-interuppted. While the neighborhood seems very safe, this made me feel uncomfortable. We also realized on our second night that the room doors don't autolock behind you, meaning we slept with our room unlocked! 2. Lounge area- There are a few small seats by reception and a large breakfast area, but no living room type space where you can relax, read or play games. With such small rooms, this type of area would be a big bonus.

Room Tip: Rooms off the courtyard are very quiet and serene

When we arrived there was a bit of a disaster as there was a problem with our booking of two rooms for four night which had been made through a third party company.

Sasha and her colleagues on reception worked solidly for an hour trying to resolve the issue which they did but we did have to spend the first night elsewhere which was unfortunate as the Thoumieux was much better than the hotel we ended up in.

Once back at the hotel we were looked after very well, with all of the staff seemingly caring about what we were up to. The staff absolutely made up for our initial disappointment.

Our room was lovely, nice decor and furniture, well appointed, Aesop toiletries, fantastic walk in shower. I get what some people have said about the size and view from the rooms but this is a converted building in the middle of Paris, room size will always be limited and why would you want to sit in your room staring out of the window when there is so. Uclh to do.

We will be going back to this hotel again next year and to be honest we can't wait. If you get the chance to try the Hotels patisserie across the road, they were fantastic.

Small hotel with superfriendly staff. Excellent rooms with one-off design decoration. Only thing was that the rooms are quite remotely located with quit a few stairs to climb. Next time we will also book the restaurant for sure. It looked very inviting however we already had bookings elsewhere.

I stayed at Hotel Thoumieux last July on business (apologies for the delay in writing this review!) and booked last minute so there was limited availability - I ended up in a double room which is fine for one person but would be a squash if there were two people! It was pretty small! The bathroom is tiny, the toilet is practically in the shower and the hand basin is outside in the room!!! Lovely Aesop toiletries. Delicious biscuits in the room with the tea and coffee making facilities. It is beautifully decorated in a bit of a crazy way so do take note of the photos, they re absolutely representative of what the room looks like! The service was good, especially for Paris where they can be a bit standoffish and to be honest I was expecting it at this hotel given it is trendy but was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was to die for, expensive but delicious. The boiled egg was shown water but not actually put in it was that raw so not for me but other than that everything else was delicious. I went in November on a day trip to Paris and had an early supper at the restaurant which was lovely. Highly recommend for business or on a romantic trip - just book in advance and get a larger room!

The hotel is laid between Eifel Tower and Invalids in an intimate typical French street. The hotel is perfect starting point by walk to Eifel Tower, Invalids, Grand Palace and Alexander III Bridge. Naturally it is also good starting point to go by underground because we can get some near underground stations by a few minute walk. Our hotel room was a little but well-equipment because there were LED TV on the wall, hair dryer, radio with alarm-clock and recharge of iPhone, wireless internet, coffee maker, mini bar, safe box and bathrobe. The inside design is very enjoyable and exacting. The bed was incredible comfortable and perfect. The breakfast was made by a two Michelin star chef, who manages the Thoumieoux Restaurant too. The breakfast wasn’t cheap but it was very delicious. Although you can stay in this hotel more than four days the breakfast would become boring because the breakfast is same every morning. This hotel hasn’t been found out for tourist of small means, but if somebody can afford it, it will be a good choosing for a long weekend.

Very helpful staff. Bathroom in Superior Double was large and luxurious with free-standing bath and Aesop toiletries. Tasteful! Excellent in-house restaurants (opened since 2009 & 2010), hotel followed quite recently - in 2011.
