After walking for about three minutes from the nearest Metro (Cadet) we arrived at this hotel for a two night stay. We were welcomed by a lovely young lady dressed in white shirt, black trousers, bow tie and braces sporting a top hat sitting jauntily on the back of her head. The interior decor was grey, white and yellow with subdued lighting and there were old books everywhere. The young lady presented us with a quill pen to sign in with and it was then that we realised the theme of this hotel was of the nineteenth century French writers of the day; particularly Victor Hugo. As we went up to our room we saw that the wallpaper everywhere, even on the bedroom doors, was of rows and rows of books giving an impression of being in a library.

Our room was very comfortable and romantic with constant reminders of the writers on glass and pictures. The shower room was very modern with different shades of lighting constantly changing in the shower itself and the largest rain shower head we had seen anywhere.

Breakfast was nicely displayed downstairs with cereal, many different fruits and juices etc and a choice of cooked food or cheeses and cold meat. There was also a bowl of croissants and pastries etc on the tables. The only negative point in the whole experience of this wonderful hotel was, that due to the breakfast being laid out to cover a varied time span, we found that the bread was rather dry and hard and the cheeses were also dry round the edges. Perhaps they could be covered to keep them fresh. .

Nevertheless I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this quirky hotel to all my friends as we loved it!
We would like to thank all the very friendly staff who made us feel so welcome.

Stayed at this hotel Friday- Monday, it was amazing. I was impressed with the hotel as soon as I walked through the door, the staff were welcoming, genuine and friendly. Very relaxing atmosphere, and every detail was spot on. The hotel was immaculately clean it looked brand new and rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. The shower changed colour and it was a very quirky and impressive bathroom and room - the ceiling was covered in clouds which was also very nice. There were two Juliette balcony doors that looked out onto roof tops. Perfect location also, 2 mins away from nearest metro. Also the staff are happy to help, and spend time with you going through the map and making recommendations on restaurants and places to go! Would seriously recommend this hotel your guaranteed to have a lovely stay and feel very welcome and relaxed. Perfect.

Room Tip: I had the room which was lime green- but any room I'm sure would be nice!

Great location right by the tube, giant bed, powerful shower with fancy lights and breakfast in bed bought to your room! Couldn't fault it and the service was great, really friendly staff and a great recommendation for food when we were stuck on where to eat on a Sunday!

Lovely small hotel in a good neighbourhood with lots of good local brasseries and bars. Very friendly and helpful staff, decor is very stylish, beautifully put together and everywhere is immaculately clean. The bathroom in the George and Albert is fabulous and like other reviewers we loved the honesty bar and the afternoon madeleines and chocolate cakes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Couldn't fault the hotel. It's a couple of miles from attractions but excellent service just room got very hot in night as other reviewers said. Make sure you download the trip advisor offline app it's brilliant and Hugo's cafe is amazing and only round the corner. Also book your Eiffel Tower tickets online as huge que. All in all a great hotel, no problems and very helpful staff and great value. Highly recommend as per other reviewers ... And I'm fussy...
