Finding a nice place in Paris, like in many other big cities, isn’t always easy.
When it comes to restaurants in Paris, it’s even worse.
Choosing from Michelin stared places to trendy ones, or picking one by chance, you may end up paying a lot for not so much.
I’ve been invited to this place a couple of years ago and had a great time, both in terms of food and atmosphere. This time I decided to visit La Guèpe again with my 24 years old nephew and my teen kids, 15 & 18.
We arrived quite early (around 7.30 PM) so were lucky to find a table for four. It’s getting very busy after 8.30 so I suggest you try to go there before it’s full.
We were welcomed by a very nice young lady (Elsa) and immediately felt “at home”. We choose from the various so called tapas available and were served very quickly.
As I experienced the place before, I told everyone to choose their favorite from the board and not to worry about their primary choice, or the size of what would come, as the idea is to order several times during the evening.
The dishes are small portions (Tapas means small bites of course) and all we got in the first round was great. So we order a second, third, fourth round and even some deserts to finish the evening.
I would summarize my two evenings at La Guèpe as very tasteful and very friendly.
I’ll add that Elsa was not only a handsome woman but also a very happy and smiling person that took very good care of us during the 3 hours we spend there.
It’s one of those evenings when you simply don’t want to leave !!!
I will be back there each time I’m in Paris.
Good atmosphere, great food and affordable prices…what else can you ask for?
All the best
