“Exactly what you would expect in the heart of Paris...but you will pay for it!”
Reviewed 5 August 2012

Paris is expensive, duh. This SPG Westin hotel is exactly what you would expect from a Starwood resort. The location couldn't be better, and is in walking distance to numerous Paris attractions. The staff we encountered were all wonderful, extremely pleasant and English speaking. I am usually fairly tough on my reviews but honestly have nothing bad to report during our week long stay. We had a junior suite overlooking a lovely courtyard. The room was enormous for European standards. The hotel is immaculate, beautiful, and of course...expensive. The courtyard is very Parisienne, but try to contain yourself if you're on a budget. We had some cheese, fruit, bread and iced tea (not even wine) and the bill was still like €75 (about $100). Morning coffee and croissant "to go" will run you about $25. The hotel concierge was great at setting up some dinner reservations as well as some local tours which I highly recommend. Even if you're not into the long-winded explanations of the history of the Eiffel Tower, it's worth signing up for a $35 tour to skip the 2 hour wait (same goes for other popular sites). The hotel has an adequate Westin workout room as well as a full service spa. I felt very comfortable and welcome, even for someone who does not speak a lick of French. Enjoy!!!

I'm amazed this hotel isn't five stars. The rooms are very spacious and meticiulously clean. The location is perfect (our room had a panoramic view from the Louvre all the way to the Eiffel Tower and a massive bathroom with separate en-suite and shower, and a small terrace!). The staff were first rate (particularly Ann-Britt (guest relations) and Abraham (asst. front desk manager), both of whom went to great effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible). The food was very good. We loved both the atrium restaurant (fantastic food, although didn't need such generous portion sizes!) and the main restaurant (where we enjoyed an evening meal and had breakfast every morning). I really can't wait to visit again. Thanks to all the staff!!

My only regret was not trying the spa and staying for two more weeks!

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a view over rue Rivoli. It's worth the extra money!

We spent a week at the end of July 2012 in this charming and historic hotel with modern services, somewhat Americanized approach (coffee, etc.), and an unbeatable location on the Rue de Rivoli --between the Tuileries gardens and the Rue St. Honore shopping. The beautiful Renaissance Revival, Corinthian-columned courtyard terrace for dining was reasonable, excellent (venison "special" one day the best I've had, simply and elegantly prepared), and a destination in itself. Our fifth floor, north court, east side "junior" suite (air conditioned, full bath, bedroom with great king sized bed, sitting room, and dressing room/closet with two full-length windows, two TVs we hardly used, and a mini-bar with space for our few things too) was decorated in a simple, modern style, but its lines were classic with a slight bow inward at the top for exterior walls, for garret atmosphere (!). Very, very quiet. We had not brought a computer for our week (getting "away), but wi-fi now is indeed included (cost optional). The staff was without exception helpful, polite, kind (patient with our French and tactfully switching to English when appropriate), efficient (the room service was the fastest we've ever had), and in every way hospitable. On a query about the history of the hotel, one of the restaurant staff offered to show some beautiful grand rooms to us, but we went exploring on our own and found the large and elegant Imperiale room and the Aigle room--both breathtaking. For history of this 1878-opened architectural gem see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Westin_Paris_–_Vendôme (there is no handout, and concierge staff were not knowledgable about this great selling point). The location of course is perfect: on our second day, Sunday, July 21, we watched the Tour de France sponsor parade and then the cyclists as they raced by to their finish a mile or so away! We could cross the street to the Tuileries garden, walk two blocks north to the Rue St. Honore and its shopping, or to the Place Madeleine, the Marche St. Honore, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, etc. The Tuileries metro stop (line 1) was very close, or Concorde too. The location is great (esp. if you have one of the quiet inside north court upper rooms), the service excellent, the food reasonably priced for very fine simple (vs. ostentatious) meals, and the junior suites spacious. We would go back in a heart-beat!

Room Tip: North inner court rooms (no terrace restaurant below) are very quiet, sunny.

My daughter and I stayed at the Westin Vendome in Paris for 3 nights and had a lovely experience. The hotel staff were accommodating to all our needs including a few forgotten toiletries and electrical converter. The layout of the hotel is unique with an open air courtyard restaurant in the center. It's a lovely place for dinner or a late night dessert. Our suite was large and very comfortable with 2 bathrooms and a view of the courtyard. The location is close to shopping and attractions as well as two convenient metro stops. Overall a wonderful stay in Paris!

The Vendrom was a mediocre hotel - all in all. The corridors are elegant and beautiful, but the rooms are mediocre. I used SPG suite upgrades for the Vendrome, and I regret it. The suites at the Vendrome are ust large rooms overlooking the courtyard.

The promises of Eiffel Tower views are over-exaggerated, and the Eiffel Tour is not close if that's the impression you have. However, the Louvre Museum is very near.

Platinum members only receive the continental breakfast. Upgrading to the buffed was very very pricey, so please be wary. Overall, a mediocre stay.

Perfect location by the beautiful tulieries with a ferris wheel. Metro stop is two blocks away. You can walk to the Lovre, then Notre Dame and over to St. Germain and not feel tired. Staff were extremely pleasant and all speak fluent english. I was upgraded to a suite that was large and closet was amazing. Heavenly king bed can't be beat in Europe! Restaurant was great but only have one meal here, go to the local cafes they're all fantastic. The only downside is that the entire hotel is full of americans so you can't get away from that.

Room Tip: Request the Tuleries view. it didn't matter to me that we had a view of a local street but if y...

This hotel is in a fabulous location! The dining terrasse on the first floor is also wonderful. The staff is attentive and the hotel has many amenities. My room faced the Tuileries and the Eiffel Tower. The special treat is the 'twinkling' on the Eiffel Tower every half hour on the hour at nite until 11pm. So romantic. Only negative was the long walk from the elevator to the room. other than that - great hotel!

Room Tip: If you don't 'have' to have the view of the Eiffel Tower or Tuileries choose a room clos...
