The Westin Paris - Vendome
Ranked #486 of 1,804 Hotels in Paris
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I stayed at the Westin - Vendome in June, 2014. I found the hotel in general to be running in a state of confusion. There did not seem to be any aspect of this hotel that was organized and under control.
I have probably stayed in at least 10 hotels in Paris over the years, including a prior visit to this hotel.
I would suggest that prior to making a reservation at this hotel, you should search out other options in this part of Paris and at comparable prices

We paid 600Euro per night and the place was lousy.
We checked in at 2.55pm, check-in time was 3pm and they had no idea when we could have our room. The room was so small, with cheap amenities, very dusty and not clean. 600 Euro per night!
The Public spaces were awful, this should be a 5 star hotel, but it was like a 2 star

Room Tip: Do not stay here.

Dear Katepagetkoh,

Thank you for writing about your recent experience at the Westin Paris-Vendôme.

I am sorry to read that we did not meet your expectations while staying with us. I read carefully your comments and I am concerned about the room you stay in and your check-in experience. To do so, I would like to talk to you personally, so if you would be so kind to write an e-mail to reservation.01729@westin.com and tell me how I can contact you, it will be my pleasure to return your message with a personal call or e-mail.

Returning to Paris after 5 years. 1 night with family between 2 business meetings in Europe. Location is superb. We arrived by bus 24 from Gare de Lyon to Musee d'Orsay then crossed Seine river by pedestrian walking bridge (1mn) then crossed Jardin des Tuileries (4mn). It was a sunny day and it felt like paradise. We could do shopping at Dsquared, Tom Ford and others Rue St Honore and tea time at Mandarin Oriental and be back to drop sopping bags within minutes. Opera and Place Vendome also next door, as well as restaurant Carre des Feuillants (great lunch set) and Jean Paul Hevin (tea time again). Hotel is huge (ex Intercontinental Rivoli) and check in at 4pm was not too quick but was fine. Long walking corridors but room was very comfortable and quiet on one of the multiplex courtyard. Gold SPG have free Wifi. But no coffee machine in room (only on room service request, 1 free cup per day... with 6 EUR service charge :)

If you want a very central home base to explore Paris, this is it. Hotel itself is fine, but nothing special. A pub inspired bar that could be anywhere and a high end restaurant (looked decent but we didn't go to Paris to eat in) and odd astro turfed court in the middle as the 'coffee shop'. Gym space sub par (but adequate) and no indoor pool. We had the Royal Suite on the first floor w expansive wrap around balconies and amazing views. The total living space was almost 2000 sq.ft and decorated very authentic Parisien. LOVED LOVED LOVED our room (but that option is obviously not available to most/nor us very often €3000+ per night). As with many Westins, hotel snobs will not be overjoyed, but if you get the right room, the location will make up for it. Traffic noise on Rue de Rivoli a bit of an issue if you get rooms with the best views. I considers a 4* but realized I would be basing that on our extravagant suite more than the overall hotel.

Westin Hotel - located across from the Tuileries Gardens. 20 minute walk to the Champs Élysées - 50 minute walk to Le Tour Eiffel, 5 minutes walk to the louvre. Taxis are easy to locate outside the hotel. When the hotel is busy, you can be in a lengthy queue for taxis. Tip: walk up the street and catch a taxi in minutes. Fantastic concierge. Every restaurant he recommended was fabulous.
Great room service. Great food. Our room faced the courtyard, which wasn't the best view for the money's we paid per night!! Rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Beautiful courtyard to dine in. Lunch. Dinner or Just to drink coffee, read. Excellent staff on every level. Great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't overlook the courtyard!

This is an excellent property with a 5 star location. The Hotel is an SPG Hotel with wonderful service and attention to detail in every respect. Very elegant restaraunts and bars in the hotel for convenience after a long day of shopping or site seeing. Location/location/location. Within walking distance to the Louvre and the On and Off Bus Tours of the city and close by to the Vendome Shopping Center which is not too shabby....For the money or points a great choice I believe.
