This was a great budget hotel that was clean, accommodating, and closer to the city center than I expected. The area is nice, quite and charming. We stayed here while traveling through Europe. We normally stayed in Hostels, but this was decent enough price the split rooms for the 10 of us. We stayed in the two bed rooms that came with 1 queen and 1 single. The queen was big enough for two dudes to share no problem. The Bathrooms where clean as well.

Good budget hotel for family. Clean rooms, ok beds, and bathrooms, friendly staff. I did not eat the breakfast, as there is an awesome pastry shop only a few yards away. Also Oberkamp station and Carrefore grocery store very close. Lift was broken so stair climb was long.

We love Paris and this was our second visit to Mary's Hotel.
Its a good basic hotel that's much closer to the center than you might think. It's located in a quite happening neighborhood. Cool shops, great restaurants and lots of café's. Plenty of night shops and late night supermarkets. A 15 minute walk will bring you to the Seine and central Paris.
The receptionist and staff were friendly and polite.
The rooms were small but clean. The bed was soft and cosy and we got plenty of sheets and good pillows.
Our room had a huge window overlooking the streets of Paris. It wasn't very noisy at all and the window was very soundproof. The rooms itself not so, luckily we had no neighbors, but all sound coming from the hallway could be heard.
We slept very well and went downstairs for the included breakfast that looked quite disappointing. A small roll, a small cup of coffee and some fluorescent jam and butter. We declined and decided to explore Paris by morning and found a great breakfast place a street over.
Overall you get what you pay for. We found the place to be clean, friendly and helpful. It's great for when you're on a budget and are out all day and evening anyways, like us.

LIKE: Location - 11eme but only a couple of blocks to 3eme which means its closer to the centre than you'd expect, which also means its cheaper quieter and safer. Right next to a metro station. Free wifi in room. Friendly staff; baggage storage area with security camera. Spacious for a solo traveler.

DISLIKE: Bathroom damp and musty. At least its not dirty (nor clean). There's no ventilation in the room so it gets stuffy - even with the window open (which lets in mosquitos). Tight for couple traveler (double bed is very small)

I would stay here again for the location and the price - I'm only sleeping and showering here. Also I felt safe walking on the streets at night!! Besides, down the end of the street there's a LOVELY little boulangerie with the best croissant aux amandes et chocolat!

Room Tip: If you can, get rooms facing the street, there's no traffic on this alley so it'll be quiet...

A year later I returned to Mary's Hotel. Still friendly service. Desk staff speak English. Close to metro and bakery and supermarket.

For the price, location and star rating the accommodation is great - To all you who are complaining: your in Paris. If you want better go four/five star hotel and wear ear plugs.

CON:
Room was very noisy and extremely dirty - dust and hairs all over the place, stains on the bedsheets, mould-infested bedrooms and, worst of all, infested with bedbugs!

PRO:
great location
free WiFI
some people of the staff are very nice and helpful (others do not seem to care)
compared to other hotels in Paris very low price (though, still not worth it. spend a little more and stay at a decent place!)

We stayed twice at St Mary's recently. The rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller. The decor is minimal but for the price and location it is a bargain. One of the main metro lines is literally 20 meters away, it feels like a reasonably safe area and with Place De La Republique a short 2 mins walk you have access to restaurants, laundry, fast food outlets, Mobile phone companies etc.etc. The main complaint would be about the pillows which really leave to be desired...they are a long clumpy sausage wrapped in the bottom bed sheet and not long enough for both. The reception area and the people working there are really nice and the hotel is quite secure. We didn't try their breakfast as there are plenty of cafes around that although could be more expensive, offer a more enjoyable setting. Lobby computers were not working but wi-fi is free (although sometimes not reaching inside the room).
After staying there twice, if ever back in Paris soon, we might try another one in the same street or area as we did like the area a lot so won't stay with them again. It is very cheap and ok for 1-2 nights ...we spent longer there and coped ok.
