Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile

Reviewed 21 February 2014

From the other reviews I have read, all I can say is I expected A LOT more from this hotel.

As from what others have noted, the customer service here is great, from when we checked in, the bellman, concierge...everyone was friendly. However once we get to the room that is when it all goes downhill. The room is not clean at all, the bathroom is dirty with stains, stains on the carpet, and HAIR in the beds- gross- and when I say hair, I don't mean the hair from your head, that's not what it looked like. My boyfriend took a shower that kept going from cold to hot. Oh, and our "king bed" is two twins put together with two separate bed covers, really?

All I can say is I am happy we are only here for one night.

Great services, bar, very good breakfast and localization, the hotel is near the metro station, shippings and good restaurants. It is an excellent hotel for travel for business, conferences and tourism.

I am completing an 11 day stay in the hotel while on business in Paris. The hotel was recommended by a colleague because of the terrific location. My Company is located in Neuilly, a short distance from the hotel so walking in everyday was no problem and this lovely suburb is worth exploring. If you do not want to wander away from the neighborhood, there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance that have very good food and are trendy. The metro station is nearby and the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe and Palais de Congress are a short distance away as well. The views from the rooftop bar are spectacular and depending on which side of the hotel your room is on, seeing the Eiffel Tower each night is a treat in itself. I will agree with some of the other contributors that the property needs an overhaul. Upon check in, I was told that the work is beginning. The hotel is the former Concorde La Fayette. I would definitely stay here again for my next trip to Paris and look forward to seeing the renovations completed.

Stayed at the hotel this week for two nights. Lobby, bar lounge and surrounding areas are spacious, excellent and high quality decor. Adjacent to the shopping mall and the location is near to the Metro, restaurants and a pleasant walk to the Arc de Triomphe. The reception staff, concierge and bar staff are very helpful, friendly and offer excellent advice. The common perception that some hotel staff are arrogant, indifferent in Paris hotels is not present at this hotel. Excellent view from the room on the 28th floor (renovated room) and from the bar on the 34th floor. Fitness room is very well equipped.
It's a pity there's no tea/coffee facilities, this is my only complaint! Would have no reservations recommending this hotel !
Irish pub, James Joyce, opposite the hotel for a pleasant evening showing sport!

Room Tip: ask for a renovated room and preferably on a "high floor" to take advantage of the views o...

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your nice comment about your stay. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and the amazing view of Paris.

It’s good to know that you enjoyed our fitness center, it’s the highest fitness center of Paris.

It is a real pleasure to read that you appreciated the quality of service delivered by our team: it is one of our priorities to propose a high quality of service.

Unfortunately, for security reasons we are not allowed to provide kettle in the rooms.

We will share your very nice comment with all our teams and will be more than happy to welcome you back very soon

it is my first time in Paris and I have been for five days at this hotel.
the location is great. five minutes walking from Arc de triumph, a minute walking from metro
very easy to get anyway.
the staff are professional and kindly.
I want to mention Christophe the concierge manager.
I made a delivery package from UK and at the moment I arrived I got it all.
further, I want to mention the reception staff who upgrade my room to Eiffel view at
the 25th floor, just because I told them that im going to propose my girlfriend.
you are the best!
the breakfast is defiantly fine in Europe standard.
everything is clean and smells good .
un doubt - I will be back
:)

Thanks!!!

Stayed here for two nights over the weekend. Stayed in a executive suite on the 33rd floor! Great room but could do with some updating.

Used the regency club a bit while we were there. Champagne, wine, beers, minerals and canapés served each evening to club members. Very comfortable with friendly and helpful staff.

The views from the bar on the top floor (34th floor) are stunning. The gym on the top floor is pretty basic.

Our room had queen size bed, sofas, two televisions, minibar. Unfortunately no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Separate bathroom and toilet. Good wifi connection provided free.

If coming from Charles de Gaulle airport book your transfers with "les cars Air France". They drop off and pick up right outside hotel. Cost of €27.50 each return trip.

Definitely recommend this hotel and will return!

Stayed for the weekend and were lucky enough to be in a room with a wonderful view of the city & landmarks and this made our stay. Rooms are small but have all that you need and location of the hotel is perfect. Below hotel is link to M1 metro (up and down Champs Elysees & links to rest of Paris) and also to the RER (trains outside of normal metro offering) and on top of that you can easily walk to Arc de T from the hotel. The view from the 34th floor bar is superb but be warned about the drinks prices, one is enough! Hotel has 900+ rooms, is business stay focused but staff were very helpful, friendly and concierge called into our room after arriving to welcome us and make sure we were settling in ok. Breakfast was basic but again, was fine for what we required, as were keen to get out and see the city. Overall, we loved our weekend and would definitely return to this hotel. Paris is Paris, expensive and hotel rooms are generally smaller but in terms of location, attitude of the staff, and access to amenities & tourist attractions, difficult to find a better location.

Special thanks to Emilie Laurent (concierge desk) who looked after us so well when we got there and also was so helpful over email prior to us arriving. Made our trip.

Quick Tips:
- Les Car (bus from airport) drops you right outside hotel, costs €29 return and comes every half an hour. Stress free and very handy. RER (train) also goes from airport but if you have luggage, get the bus. ( a lot of stairs to come up from RER to ground level )
- Get the Metro 1 to Palais Royal, switch over to Metro 7, and visit the Latin Quarter for lovely meals, reasonable set price menus and a really nice atmosphere.
- You can walk / metro to everywhere from this hotel, no need for taxis so big saving.
- Versailles ( 40 mins away ) is a must day trip ;€12.50 online or €15.00 there and again, easy to get to from metro stop below hotel.

Room Tip: There are 900 rooms in this hotel, we were very lucky to be given a room with a stunning view by the...
