We got rooms on the 'executive suite' floors due to points. So, we knew the rooms were going to be nice. The first part of the 4-day stay we had fabulous view of the Tower and Arc.

BUT the room we got for the 2nd part of our stay, had even better view -- but turned out to be on smoking floor! It stank!

Now for the service: front desk and all the services available from the various desks on the lobby were great.

BUT, the cleaning other support services were poor at best. Example: they came to convert the sofa bed into a bed every night an forgot to provide pillows - every night!

We will never forget the view of the dancing lights on the Tower at night and the front desk, and try to forget the custodial services...

Room Tip: ask for as high a floor as possible and a room number in the 'teens; you may not want to leave P...

We stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed it. You must consider that this hotel has only been a Hyatt for one year now and that they have re-branded everything but must now renovate the whole hotel! Renovating 35 floors while housing guests is not an easy task and everyone should respect this when staying here and reviewing this property.
As Hyatt Diamond members, we were given a Deluxe Room on the 3rd floor (the rooms on the lower floors are already renovated) instead of a Club Room on the 32nd floor (same room size as Deluxe rooms but not renovated - however better view). The check-in process took quite some time which was annoying but our room was nice and fairly spacious (for Paris!). The Regency Club on the 30th floor is wonderfully decorated and designed, offers a fantastic view and has a really nice breakfast in the morning - including the best Orange Juice I have ever had. In the early evening, champagne and wine are available as well as canapés/hors d'œuvres.
When we had a problem or wanted something, we could always ask a member of staff and it was taken care of...
However, with a large hotel like this it is difficult for the staff to take care of all of their guests at the same time - together with the probably old computer systems this can be quite a drag when queues build up for the Reception for check-in and -out.
The location is absolutely perfect: Situated in one complex with the Palais des Congrès, you have shops and boutiques right at your disposal without having to leave the hotel (simply use the back exit right into the mall). When you walk through the mall, you are also right in the métro station Porte Maillot which offers a direct link with the Paris city centre (métro line 1 and RER line C). When leaving the hotel, you can be in the middle of Paris in about 15-20 minutes. The airport bus from CDG Airport "Les Cars Air France Linie 2" stops right outside this hotel. Perfect!
One problem this hotel still has to sort out besides renovating rooms and re-thinking computer systems and technical issues is the elevator issues. You need a different elevator for floors 25-34 than you need for 0-25. That is why you need to connect on floor 25 when going up to the Regency Club, Fitness Room or Bar La Vue.
The Bar La Vue is not recommendable as it offers a splendid view but the drinks are not affordable (20-25€ for a cocktail are not acceptable in this location).

The final verdict is: This hotel is definitely worth staying at if you like a convenient location, a comfortable and spacious room, a great Regency Club and an interesting view. We definitely want to come back!

Room Tip: Higher floors are not refurbished but have a better view over Paris if you are on the side facing th...

I normally stay elsewhere but ended up being booked into this hotel for a short stay.

So far, yet to find a good thing about this hotel.

Arrived at 1130. Check in person was friendly enough but could not give me a room. Come back later she said. She'll make sure my room is ready 1 hour.

1 hour later, she sees me and then walks away elsewhere. Next person. Room not ready. Come back in 1 hour.

Fine. Come back. Check in person listens to what I say then walks away saying she is busy and will get someone else to help. No one comes. Walk over to next desk. Room not ready. She'll ring her colleague to put priority on my room. Come back in another hour. "You're welcome".

I never thanked you, you condescending, insincere person, who is presumably there to make my experience pleasant but completely over-delivered on annoying me.

No apologies. No offers to keep my bag until I return. Just some mumbled sentences about how she has given me a nice room. Actually, you haven't given me a room at all....

Pretty disappointing effort by Hyatt.... Actually, no effort made at all.

In addition, valets are not helpful. They look at you when you try to leave your bags with them as if they're shocked by it.

If you want to stay at a Hyatt go to Madeleine. If price is too much try one of hundreds of lovely boutiques in Paris instead.

Location and convenience - could not be beat!
As others have mentioned, this hotel is connected to the Palais des Congres, the convention center with an underground shopping mall, the most convenient of which is a gourmet grocery store where we stocked up on cute souvenirs and foie gras to take back home.

The Metro is also accessible via the underground tunnel, which gave us easy access to all the sights of Paris. The staff helped us print out passport photos at the hotel business center and we purchased Navigo cards that enabled us to get around the city with ease.

The hotel is located right on the Ave des Ternes – so right outside the front entrance there are many restaurants and plenty of excellent shops. There is a pharmacy with a vending machine that even dispenses diapers right across the street.

The view – simply magnificent!!!
We had a view of the Eiffel Tower that was spectacular and delighted us every morning when we woke up and every evening with a sparkling light show. Later, as we explored the city we walked by the Park Hyatt hotel, with rooms nearly quadruple in price to ours, but we felt we had a much better location!

The comments regarding renovations are true; the hallways are dark, the carpets are stained, the bathrooms are old, but the hotel was recently acquired by Hyatt, and it is being gradually converted to Hyatt standards.
As a Diamond member we were upgraded to an Ambassador suite on the 32nd floor; the spaciousness was simply beyond our wildest dreams in a European hotel! The access to breakfast, snacks and drinks at the club lounge was also a huge convenience, especially considering the expensive cost of food in Paris.

As for service, our experience was beyond fantastic!
Michel Morauw, General Manager, was on holiday when we arrived, but clearly is training his staff to cater to the discerning international traveler. The front desk staff members were extremely helpful, and when my sister’s family checked in a few days after our arrival, they accommodated us all by upgrading them to a room adjoining ours. The servers in the club lounge were very gracious – one evening my mother overslept and arrived just at the end of the snack hour. They said not to worry – and delivered an entire platter of small sandwiches and desserts to our room! The concierge desk was extremely kind when I came with questions about a SIM card for my unlocked phone. The server in the first floor lounge also made us feel very welcome as we indulged in a late night snack.
I must say that compared with the “French attitude” that we experienced in many other parts of the city during our trip, the staff at the Hyatt was a cut above and certainly helped make our trip a memorable one!

This Hotel is unlike any other hyatt I have ever stayed in. Queues and long wait everywhere from check-in, lifts, breakfast & concierge. Everybody seems in a hurry no one wants to talk to you for more then a minutes as the queue behind you is getting longer. Breakfast is a shamble it's like you are sitting in school canteen. The room is outdated and not up to the standards. I would recommend Hyatt vendome or Madeleine over this one if you want true hyatt experience and much more relaxed stay.

Thank you very much for your feedback. As you may be aware, we were delighted to welcome the Concord La Fayette to our portfolio of hotels in April 2013.

Now re-branded as Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, we will shortly begin rejuvenating this classic property in order to provide our unique Hyatt guest experience.

The project will include a renovation of the hotel’s guestrooms and refurbishment of its public areas. Our goal is to curate a unique experience, and provide our guests with a memorable stay.

The hotel is situated right besides the Palais des Congres (congress centre). It has a lot of shops in the basement and the entrance to the subway (metro and RER) is right besides.
The hotel also offers view to the Eiffel Tower, but you have to ask (and probably pay more) for a room with this view.
The service is poor.

Hotel location is good on Metro #1. The concierge was really helpful and friendly and most times available. The rooms are older and smelly. The bath had some mold. The hotel guest population is very particular with almost everyone you see from the middle east. While it did not pose any problem - you want to know it in advance not to be surprised.
