“Great location, clean hotel, very helpful staff”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

This hotel was a bit on the expensive side and the rooms a little bit small (although our bathroom was quite spacious), hence the 4 star rather than the 5, but other than that, I am very happy that I have chosen to stay here for 8 nights and will definitely go again if I travel to Paris. The location is excellent, so much stuff to do in Rue Daguerre, when we got tired of sight seeing, we simply shopped around the area, had dinner and drinks just a few steps away from our hotel room, which was a great break from walking around Paris. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful, our towels were replaced everyday and our bed was made, which is a nice welcome when going back to the hotel. If you're stopping at ORLY, the ORLY bus takes you to Denfert Rochereau which is just a minute walk to the hotel.

When visiting Paris you might not want to stay here. The rooms are not just small but tiny. What you will not find in the room: wash cloths, pen, paper, or a reading lamp. The shower door must have been made for a skinny French model because I could barely squeeze through it to get in to the shower and it was extremely tiny. The room was clean and very quite as there wasn't much to clean and not many people around. My room got very warm during the night and I tried to turn the air conditioner on. There was no air conditioner. I mentioned this at check out that I had to open the window to get some cool air. I was told that the building does have air conditioning but they were not about to turn it on for just one room. Really? When everybody gets too warm then they turn it on. Wow! But the best and worst part about this hotel is the elevator. This is something out of Rowan & Martin's Laugh Inn. You have to climb the stairs in order to get to the elevator. I kid you not! The elevator does not go to the lobby floor but about half way between the lobby and the floor above. Unbelievable But True! As much as a total inconvenience this would be for an elderly person to drag their bags up a flight of stairs to get to the elevator to take them to their room, I couldn't stop laughing whenever I walked into the lobby. Who in their right mind would build a an elevator that does NOT come to the lobby floor?? I still laugh whenever I think of this hotel that has a stairway one has to take in order to get to the elevator. You just don't see that every day. So if you want to see something really stupidly funny go to this hotel and ask where the elevator is. This is so dumb that it just might be an attraction for this place as I believe it to be the only one in the whole wide world. I am now mad at myself for not taking a picture of this absurd anomaly as you really need to see this to believe it.

Room Tip: If you are planning to do any kind of paperwork in your room you will need your own pen, paper and r...

Overall this was a reasonable hotel.

The rooms are relatively small, as usual with all hotels in Paris. I found that the bed felt a bit short. It was nice to have a little desk.

The window sound insulation is good, but there is still some noise from rue Daguerre that woke me up (maybe from cleaning or garbage trucks) one morning, so pick a room facing away from Daguerre.

The location is nice: rue Daguerre is an interesting market street, with good access to restaurants and bars and is close to two metro lines.

Room Tip: Face away from rue Daguerre for more quiet.

Great hotel and location for exploring Paris with good local bars and restaurants but with easy walking distance to the Metro and main line trains.

We'd stayed here before so knew the rooms were typically city hotel sized and knew that its in a good location. We were here for the Paris Marathon and needed to eat earlier than the hotel advertised breakfast but a quick word with the chap on reception and this was sorted. Breakfast is €10 each which at first seems expensive but the food is fresh and plentiful with good coffee and when you try and eat out for breakfast it's as expensive and no where near as good.

The high point here is the location: good neighborhood in Montparnasse. It is located in a very nice street, full of good restaurants, cafes, markets, groceries... Far from the crowded tourist attractions, generally surrounded by turist traps but yet with easy access to the main tourist attractions by subway, if you are up to it. Rooms: small, but I think you won't find anything bigger for the price we payed in Paris. Comfortable bed and good shower (small bathroom, though). Nice people at the front desk. We did not try the breakfast as it was expensive and there were many options nearby.

I, my wife and doughter stayed three nghts in a very nice, clean and double room (603) at the highest floor, We liked it very much. The beds were very good, two flat televisions, fast and free wireless internet, near three metrostations and in a street with several restaurants, bars and 24 hours little foodshops. The staff was very comunicative (english as well). The elevator is very small and you have to use stairs to get in and to get at your room.

I stayed here for just 2 nights but I would definitely return once again. If you're on a budget this is a great choice. Location was central, public transportation was nearby and easy to access. The staff was very helpful, especially Sophie at the desk and the gentleman who worked overnight. The room was pretty basic with old decor but the linens were fresh and the bathroom was very clean, that's what I find most important.
