“class weekend”
Reviewed 9 October 2012

we travelled with leger holidays to longchamp, had a great day looking around paris on the saturday and even better day at the races the following day, with a fantastic and friendly atmosphere making it a weekend to remember. looking forward to next year already, paddock area is great for viewing. bars were charging 10 euros a pint of draught kronenburg but you could buy cans of it cheaper at the snack bars.baguettes were the best option for a snack. it only costs 8 euros entry great value and even better for a lady wearing a hat ,free entry, racecard free as well .

“day out”
Reviewed 20 January 2012

we are not regular race goers but thought it would be nice to enjoy a part of paris, it was excellent, very well laid out and plenty of eating and drinking places, lots of views of the race and you can see the paddock.

“Longchamp Hippodrome: Off The Beaten Path In Paris”
Reviewed 28 October 2011

Longchamp Racecourse is a wonderful place to spend a day while in Paris. Wether you are a race aficionado or a complete novice, Lonchamp promises an enjoyable day. The track is surprisingly easy to visit from central Paris. By Metro from the Left Bank, just take the number 10 line from Cluny-Sorbonne or Odeon stations (any station on the 10 line) in the direction of Boulogne Pont de Saint-Cloud. Exit the Metro at Porte d'Auteuil station. On Saturdays and Sundays (and special race days) a free shuttle bus is offered from Porte d'Auteuil Metro station. this is about a 25 Min. metro ride. The free shuttle is actually a regular city bus. The street traffic intersection at Porte d'Auteuil is somewhat confusing as many streets converge here. To find the free shuttle, look for the typical track crowd (people reading racing sheets and carrying bag lunches). The bus parks and sits for 10-15 Mins. while riders get on. This bus delivers you directly to the Longchamp entrance. After the 4th or 5th race, free buses run at regular intervals to return visitors to the Porte d'Auteuil Metro station. The Longchamp racing season is April-Oct. Gates open at 11:30 and the first race is at 1:30. Admission is just 3-4 Euro and food and beverages are very reasonable (surprisingly). The grounds and facilities are beautiful with a windmill and partial view of the Eiffel Tower. Everything else happens very much like a North American track. This is a great venue.

“Fabulous value for great horse racing”
Reviewed 25 October 2011

This year we joined the annual British invasion of Paris for the weekend of the Pix de L'arc de Triomphe. The Saturday is a very relaxed day with plenty of space to move around and costs 4 euros to get in for four group 2 races. It is a great day for the first timer to get to know the course as Sunday is altogether different with a much bigger turnout. Entry is 8 euros for 7 group 1 races. It is not difficult to get a drink. Wine at 20 euros a bottle and beer at 10 euros a half litre. The catering staff speak good English. There are always queues for the grandstand toilets but most people don't know about the portaloos behind the Parimutuel building at the far end of the course. There are regular shuttle buses to and from the course from the Porte Maillot. These are called 'Navettes'.One word of caution - check your pay out from the Pari-mutuel. When I checked it the following day I was 50 euros short. No way of making any restitution. All in all though a great value event especially when compared to the Grade 1 British courses or even the Grade 4 tracks.

“Great racecourse”
Reviewed 11 October 2011

I attended the 2011 Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe with my husband and we ahd a great day. Free shuttlebus from Porte Maillot, a 15 minute walk from our hotel, incredibly reasonable entry, free glossy and informative racecard.
The racing was superb and the crowd far better behaved than an average weekend race meeting in England now. Everyone was there to enjoy the racing, not merely view it through the bottom of a beer glass.
The food was reasonably priced, bearing in mind the occasion.
I would really recommend any true racing enthusiast to experience this, although it may change a little after the course has been redeveloped.
