As a family with young kids, we don't have many options beyond family rooms.

So booked a Quad room here for 95 euros. 2 double beds crammed into the room and not much space for anything else including walking round the beds. No drinks tray or kettle, so can't get a cup of hot stuff made. Shower attachment to bath had nothing to hold it at a decent height. And walking 3 flights up a tight spiral staircase with 2 hand luggage sized suitcases was hard work.

15 minute walk from Gare Du Nord. Area felt quite shady and lots of shouting outside the window after 11pm. Close to metro station - which we were glad to use to leave the place. Thankfully only had a 1 night stay. Wouldn't return as a family, although as a place to rest the head as a couple, it may be okay if the room is the same size with only 1 double bed in it.

Room Tip: Don't get a Quad.

The price reflected the hotel - cheap and cheerful without the frills. Very close to the metro for during the day excursions and we ended up taking a taxi at night due to the place being a little shady. Stairs are a death trap so unless you have a good level of fitness and mobility look for somewhere else!!

The hotel is ok. The staff were nice. The rooms were quite dirty - but since we were there only for sleep it did the job. Poor breakfast - they charge 5,50 euros to serve coffeee, orange juice, and bread - you can get for the same price a better breakfast on the street.
The location is great, next to the train station. Easy to get to the city. The area offers quite a few restaurants. Great for us which were traveling with 3 children,

Excellent location, practical for getting all around Paris.
Staff very aware and friendly.
I would advise more mature travellers or families with children to check which room they are booking prior to confirmation as there are 5 floors and only a winding staircase. No lift!
Overall good value.

Hotel Jarry is located within walking distance from Gare de l'Est, a railway station which connects you to the Metro and France's railway. Rooms had wifi (which is a basic requirement of the modern traveller as it helps you communicate and connect with home) and were clean but they were pretty small.

Breakfast was cheap and good. And for Muslim travellers, there is a multitude of halal food around that area.

The receptionists were friendly and able to offer assistance (better in French but not bad in English).

The location is very good, close to Gare du Nord and *all* the sights you might want to visit are within 30 minutes of a walking distance. That said, the immediate area is overrun with chip shops, hair extension "salons", pawnshops and people selling you what looks like snow at night...

Staff is very friendly and I am sure do their job well. But if you are picky and want to stay somewhere cleaner than your home, you may be disappointed. We spotted a bug under the bed and a bugger on the wall.

The room wasn't ready when we got there after the check in time, when we were allowed in our room it was filthy. Bed sheets were worn and stained and the blankets moved on thier own. The bath towels were filthy and stank. The shower didn't work properly and there was no plug in the sink and things got lost down the plug hole. The noise was horrendous, both inside and out, people tried to break into bedrooms, including ours at 3am while people were sleeping which was extreamly frightening. The hotel staff thaught this was funny and shrugged! No lift and carrying luggage is a complete episode, the bar was alcohol free, the area was dodgy and unsafe. We had such a great time here we checked out a day early and slept at the airport staying only 2 nights out of the 3 we paid we for because the prospect of spending a third night was was enough to make us want to end it all.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.
