Stayed here at the end of our honeymoon trip around Europe. I was undergoing a bit of a remodel but this didn't affect how friendly and helpful the staff were. Even the odd builder we bumped into was very polite. We booked a superior room but were upgraded on arrival to a suite, and it was great. Loads of space, lovely balcony, great shower and my wife's favorite thing a Jacuzzi bath.

We will be revisiting next year to see how the remodeling has turned out.

I would also add it clearly stated that it was undergoing work when we booked and the room was discounted due to this, so we expected there to be some disruption.

Upon arrival there was NO parking regardless of the fact they say they have parking. Secondly I slipped on wet concrete on reception - I kid you NOT! The reception looks like a building site, the stairs would be shut down in the UK! The car park is a dodgy place about 5mins walk - good luck if you ever see your car again. Ive got pictures a plenty if you would like to see them. We were soooo dissatisfied. The place is a joke! Do NOT stat here please!!!

Dear Jonathan,

First of all we would like to thank you for sharing your opinion with us.

Is is true that L'Empire Paris has been under renovation during this 2013 summer. We've been improving the reception area and the breakfast lobby, that is already at our customers disposal.

To compensate our guests that are staying with us during this period, we've made a 30 % discount on all room rates, of we're sure you have benefited. We also remember that you had reserved a classic room and that we had free upgraded you into an executive suite , in which we thought you would be more comfortable.

Concerning the parking, we have a valet available from 7 am to midnight, that can park you car and bring it back, whenever you need, between this time range. All you need to do is to present your car in front of the hotel, so we can take care of it. The car parking that we work with is under surveillance 24/7 and, as far as we can recall, we've never had any problem with damaged cars or stolen items.

We apologize for the distress our renovation process has caused you despite our efforts to improve your well-being, and are sorry to know you were this dissatisfied.

Fell free to contact us for any service you might require.
Best regards,

The management

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in August. The hotel is currently under construction and a mess. The room was nice and large but with such emphasis on modernity of design, the feeling is stark and cold. Walls are paper thin. The location is nice, but not great. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is currently being renovated, if we had known we probably would not have booked this hotel. The reception is a disaster. Def not 4 star.

The room walls are paper thin - we can hear when our neighbours are showering, in the toilet, their conversations...
The rooms are small, though we don't really do anything than sleep In the rooms so that is ok.

The rooms and bathroom are clean and bed is comfortable. Toiletries are fair trade items which is nice. The room rates cover wifi, however the wifi is very slow and that is when you can actually get it. Certain apps also disconnect any wifi you may be connected to such as messaging and viber. Needless to say you may as well have no wifi at all. We asked reception and they said when too many people are connected to the wifi, it does not work!

There is a computer in reception that can be used. The keyboard is in French however when you use the keyboard you better know the English version by touch otherwise you are screwed! As the letters are all wrong. The mouse also does not have left and right click which is a pain. ( this computer was moved after our second night and we were told if we need a computer we can use the hotel staffs ipad- this was nice, not sue what happened to the computer!)

There is no restaurant/ cafe due to the renovations, however you can order room service. Beware though one coffee is 9euros! And European coffee is not nice at all....

There is a safe in the hotel room, though it is not bolted down so I'm sure anyone could just walk out of the hotel with the whole safe!

The hotel is in a nice area, it is 5 mins walk from the louvre and champs élysées. There are some nice restaurants close by and the bridge with locks only 5 mins away. Train station is also very close and its only a couple of euros per trip.

The staff are great, really friendly - they helped us find some restaurants to visit, how to take a train and check timetables and really friendly.

If you just need a clean room to sleep close to a couple of good locations this is the place for you.

The hotel staff were professional and pleasant. They also all spoke English. Our room was nice and clean, though lobby was lacking due to constructino of restaurant at the time our stay. Location was "mostly" great. The street is a little isolated so it made it a little worrisome at night, but this was really only due to the fact the building next door is under construction so it appeared a little darker than normal. Once that is done, I am sure it will be fine. Overall, I enjoyed our stay and would definitely work well. Wifi worked well and so did air conditioning. room was normal size.

We spent three nights at L'Empire on our first visit to Paris and have to say this was a great hotel, even to USA hotels! We were nervous when we arrived and saw all the construction outside the hotel, dont let it bother you! Upon check in, we knew we were in for a nice visit, as Sonja at reception was unbelievable! She was so friendly and helpful, it made our stay. Although Im not a big fan of dark colored hallways, when we got to our rooms we were so surprised at the comfort of the bed, and the overall size. The showers are fantastic, and dont be worried about a room facing the courtyard. This was honestly the QUIETEST hotel I may have ever slept in. A/C worked great as well.
As lounge area was under construction, we were offered free room service breakfast. I thought I wasnt a fan of eating in my room, yet the breakfast was incredibly good, and a perfect start to the day. This may be a new habit for me!

Kudos to L'Empire, great place to stay!

Room Tip: Dont be afraid of courtyard rooms, they are so quiet! Besides you shouldnt be looking out your hote...

We had a single night with this hotel on the way home from 2 magic weeks in Provence. Due to the renovations our hotel booking company status, we were upgraded to the executive suite on the top floor with the roof top balcony. We actually chose the hotel based on it's proximity to the restaurant (SPRING) we were dining at on this last evening - 20m walk, so the upgrade was a very welcome surprise.
The staff were oh so lovely and accommodating - its must be trying for them during this renovation process. The room was huge, well appointed but it is obvious the finishing touches were still being made to the room and we may have been the 1st guests to even use it post refurb. A great breakfast was enjoyed on the roof-top balcony instead of downstairs in the yet to be completed cafe. Location is fabulous - a true review is not appropriate given the circumstance of our stay, however I would certainly consider staying again.

Room Tip: Ensure renovations are complete or will not affect your stay.
