If you want to live the "Life on Mars" experience... just go to this hotel and think you are living the life of your parents/grand-parents!! Deco is 70ies (original!!), the good point is that it is just 5 m away from the RER station of Port Royal. The RER B, which is the line from and to the airports !! For the rest, nothing interesting !! No air-co and very minimal breakfast, no eggs, no ham and very old bread and not very good croissant. The breakfast is not a buffet. Rooms are a bit bigger than average but they are really hot. Insonorisation is good but you need to open the windows since it is really hot !! Bathroom has a bathtub with a shower in it, but no place to fix the shower-tube on the wall... a real adventure !! And cherry on the cake, the 70ies lift was not working.

One good thing about this hotel is that it's right next to the Port Royal station. So it's easy got get anywhere. The not so good thing - no power socket to charge your phone, which means you have to bring your own power bank and the toilet is so so small. I literally sat sideways on the toilet coz there were no room. There is no air conditioning or fan so it is not wise to stay there during the warm months.

It is interesting to read the reviews of the Hôtel Beauvoir here.

You get what you pay for. Yes, the room is small. No, there is no air-conditioning, but there is a window that can be opened.

We went to Paris to be in Paris, not a hotel room. We spent four fantastic days walking all over the place, hanging around in cafés and enjoying great food. Once back in the hotel we dropped onto our beds and slept solidly. We would not have minded a slightly larger room, but we preferred to spend money on shopping and eating. Hôtel Beauvoir satisfied our needs.

We found the hotel adequate. We slept well. The room was clean. . Very handy being just a few steps away from the train connecting to the airport.

We arrived at 11 in the forenoon, to early to check in, deposited our luggage and sat down to catch our breaths, check email and plan what to do first. Within 10 minutes the receptionist had arranged a room for us so that we could clean up and rearrange our stuff before going on our first walk. The staff in the reception were not great in English, but very correct, kind and helpful.

In the rush when leaving in the morning rush, the inevitable happened. I left an electronic device still charging in an electric outlet. I realised what had happened once we were on the train to the airport, too late to go back and sent an email to the hotel. 14 minutes later I got a response that they had taken care of the device. They mailed it very swiftly. That is service!

We did not test the breakfast as when in Paris we prefer to go to a corner café and be part of Parisian life.

"My hotel room was so small when I put the key in the door I broke a window."
You do get what you pay for, which in this case is not much at all. There was literally no where to barely put my average sized suitcase down, much less open it without having to stand in the same spot until I closed it again. Loud street noise or "good location" is a con/pro depending on how you see it I guess. So if you are traveling alone, are smaller then average height, have only a carry-on bag and a very tight budget, bring your ear plugs and you'll be ok I guess. Otherwise, pay a few extra Euros someplace else, there are plenty to choose from.

Room Tip: Get on as high a floor as possible to avoid road noise. Hotel is on a very busy street.

This is my first review and I'm sad it must be a negative one. It comes with a month delay but I decided to share this experience so that others can avoid the troubles. I wish i had read the posts on this site before my institute did the arrangements for me.
I used a single room at the last floor about a month ago, in June. Stayed there for almost a week. Lack of air conditioning, noise form the traffic, very thin walls plus all sorts of "shady" activities resulted in a single full night sleep in the whole interval. The personal, though nice and friendly, was useless in solving the problems i reported. I agree with previous posts regarding the smallness of the rooms and the needed facelift.
The location, the free wifi and the smaller price for a room are just not worth IMHO when compared to the lack of sleep, lack of air conditioning, lack of comfort...

Room Tip: try the lower floors if you really must stay there...

The only reason we didn't give the Beauvoir Hotel an excellent rating was the lack of air conditioning, which would limit our stays in the summer. Otherwise, it's a nice, clean remodeled old place with a corteous service and an excellent location. If you like walking, Notre Dame, the Louvre and other great places in Paris are accessible. The Port-Royal train station is a few steps away, which takes you to the Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports in 30-40 minutes with no transfer. The Montparnasse boulevard is full of nices cafes, bars and restaurants within 5 to 15 minutes distance. Rooms are small but normal for Paris standards and prices are reasonable. Can't ask for much more....

Room Tip: Rooms are nicer at the front. More street noise if you like to sleep with a cracked window.

This tiny hotel is centrally located in Paris, RER B direct to Park Royal at the hotel door. Along with the free Wifi, that's the only good thing about it..... The Single room is sooo small, You have to sit sideways on the toilet (literally). The bed and room were old and uncomfortable, needs major renovation, walls are very thin and you hear everything in the hallway. Don't use the lift if you're overweight you'll get stuck. Paid 80 Eur with breakfast, but wouldn't stay there again, I would advise to take the Metro from a proper hotel to go downtown then to stay in something central like this ....

Room Tip: go to another hotel..but if you have to stay here, maybe choose the Grand or double rooms, I suppose...
