“Good place”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

The room was just like in the pictures provided in the web page. The rooms look smaller in person but you cannot beat the view of the tower. The windows are very dirty on the outside. They have towel warmers and that is a treat. Everything in the room worked. The halls are black all dark, the lighting is subdued and on motion sensors. The concept is like a W Hotel but smaller. They keep a copy of your passport and make you sign a guarantee even if you prepay. I did not like that. The WIFI worked well and the TV was OK except for the fade on a few channels. The Metro is in front of the hotel but you cannot hear it unless your windows are open. You can walk to several restaurants and a grocery store near by for fruits, snacks and all beverages. The Sushi place down the block, go right when you exit hotel, is good and prices are reasonable. There is a popular bakery-pastry shop on the corner as well as bank branch with an ATM. There is a McDonald,s and a Starbucks a few blocks away.you go to the left when you leave the hotel and follow the train to get there. we went to a nearby cafe called La Place and had crappy service with a bad attitude and do not recommend that place. Walk tot he street the McDonald's is on turn right and walk to a place called Siempre and you will love it. Great food and fantastic attitude.

We would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Eiffel Tower view is very good.

I'm from Dallas Tx USA.The only problem, mini fridge didn't work. Dark when you walk out the rooms until the sensor light slowly kicks on. That was scary. I will stay here again. Comments are limited.

Room Tip: Just ask for the Eiffel Tower View; I'm sure they will give it to you. I think most of this hote...

We are here now and in a room that is hot. Too hot to stay in. tonight I may have to sleep in Lobby. A women from the desk came in too have a look. They say it needs time for air to cool. It is a holiday and apparently the people who service them are off! Will keep you informed.
Suppose to get us another room. Will keep you posted.

Hotel is located literally across from the metro, which is very handy for weary travelers, I will go ahead and put this in the "plus" column. We waited 20 minutes to check-in, staff was matter of fact, neither warm nor cold but not particularly welcoming. We observed what appeared to be a prostitute also checking in to the hotel (i'll go ahead and put this in the minus column). Hotel felt rather insecure, as hotel desk was not always manned, and anyone could walk in off the street and get on the lift to the rooms (use the safe!). Corridors are black, dark, and dimly lit with motion sensitive lights. As 30 somethings and very able bodied, I still felt uneasy about the design, and found myself looking at the floor to ensure I didn't trip. Room is small, but plenty big enough for two people for a short stay. The view was incredible, we paid for the upgrade for the eiffel tower. The windows and curtains do a lot to cut out the noise of the train across the street and the busy cafes, and traffic pattern just outside.

The next day we were awakened with a fire alarm, and after fumbling to get dressed after being quite tired, managed to arrive downstairs and were told it was a false alarm. The next day, we were also not so gently awakened by the same fire alarm in the middle of the night. Incredibly romantic to be spending our anniversary with fire alarms disrupting what should have been intimate moments together.

The wifi was inconsistent at best, that was not a priority to us, but worth noting.

Our beds were made daily, however they did not change our linens, nor did they exchange new towels.

I've had better service at Holiday Inns, and basic service like fresh linen seems reasonable. No apologies for faulty alarms or concessions seems in further poor taste. I suppose clean sheets daily and a peaceful night's rest was just too much to ask from this hotel.

It was our first visit to the city of love for my 30th Golden Birthday. After 30 hours of travel (including a layover) and learning the train system (some areas with no lifts), my boyfriend was relieved this boutique hotel fortunately was just across the street from the train station at which I was then able to manage rolling my own suitcaseS over. Surely I packed my designer threads, coats, shoes... everything I get funny looks for wearing in Hawaii, I took. We were welcomed with the ever so cute "bonjour madam" by this amazing I don't know what his title was because he really was the hotel manager, front desk agent, concierge, bell man, door man... he was an impressive one-man team in a chic suit! He spoke English and was very polite with us "schtuupidd amerikans!" It was quite an interesting experience as the elevator was tiny and the hallways are blacked out, but the room was modern chic, internet worked well, and with the cold weather I surely appreciated having a towel heater in the bathroom. Other staff members were friendly and welcoming as well, giving us great recommendations. We would definitely stay again as it was very easy to get around via train. However, please take note that although the staff meant well, "not far" in actuality was quite far (for a girl in 4 inch heels).

I stayed at this hotel as a treat for our last night in Paris and I am so glad that I did. The room was very comfortable and it had a good view of the Eiffel tower (about 2/3rds of the tower) - but please note, you must request this at booking, it costs extra and even then it's not 100% guaranteed.

The front desk staff were very professional, friendly and warm. They were also quite helpful and providing me with directions :-)

My only suggestion for future guests would be to skip the hotel breakfast - at 10-15 euros it's way overpriced (toast, butter, jam, coffee, cold cuts, hard boiled eggs?!) Just walk outside the hotel and there are a couple of great options.

Room Tip: request a room with a tower view at booking (it's extra but it's worth it!)

We had a great stay at First Hotel on our first trip to Paris. The staff was extremely friendly, English speaking and very patient with helping us plan with directions to all the attractions. They allowed us to check-in early (depends on room availability) and the house keeping was quiet. The room was Parisian chic, very clean and modern. Has all the amenities (including a locker safe, coat closet, desk and an iron) needed for a stay in the compact space of a room.
Best location in 10 min walk-able distance to the Eiffel tower and UNESCO building. The hotel is well located right across the street from the Cambronne metro station. Very convenient for those wanting to explore city by the metro rail. Surprisingly, we had zero road or rail noise in the room even though our window faced the metro station.

Don't miss the awesome Cafes on either sides of the hotel. Had some of the best Eclair and macaroons in my life here! Our stay here was stress-free of the foreign travel jitters i had before arriving and left with great memories of Paris. Will definitely recommend this place to stay for those wanting to be closer to Champ De Mars area!
