Hotel MirMar situated in the Montparnasse district of Paris opposite the Gare Montparnesse railway terminal. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get here from CDG airport. Ideally situated for sightseeing on foot and by Metro plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. Great views from the bedroom window looking at the Montparnasse Tower. Staff very friendly and helpful and speak English. Room very clean and with tea making facilities (No Safe) large by Paris standards, bed very comfortable bathroom small but adequate with a very powerful shower, clean towels every day. Continental breakfast has much as you want and very good.
Would recommend this hotel and stay here again on our return visit.

This hotel is in a great location, right opposite both the Montparnasse Tower (a must see for the views over all Paris and beyond) and the mainline railway Gare de Montparnasse. The Metro is well placed here, one entrance right by the hotel, the other over the road in the main line station.

The hotel staff were all very pleasant, very helpful and made out stay good.

Our room, on the 5th floor (just two more rooms above) was really quite small, but at the end of the day we just needed a comfortable bed for the night - and it was. There was an ensuite shower room, very small, but the shower itself was large and what a fantastic shower!

No air conditioning meant the room was stuffy, since when we were there (20-23/9) the weather was lovely and warm/hot. There were two big double windows to open with little juliet balconies, but to leave them open at night meant the noise from the buses in the station pull-in (all night!) were a bit offputting.

Breakfast was included in our tariff and it was nice. You were handed a tray with cup (serve yourself choice of coffees/teas/hot chocolate) and a plate with large croissant and french bread. You could then help yourself to a selection of meats and cheeses, jams, honey and spreads/butter, fresh fruit, cereals and fruit juices. The breakfast set us up very well for our full days of exploring the wonderful city of Paris.

There are any number of restaurants, bars, bistros around the hotel - spoilt for choice really.

If you're exploring this hotel, you're not looking for memorable Paris pied-à-terre. This is an inexpensive, everything-is-fine place to stay within spitting distance of Gare Montparnasse, and therefore great if you're heading out the next morning on the TGV, or have just come in on it.
The rooms are a bit small, but clean enough. The hallways are a bit stuffy, but who cares. Wifi works. Unlike some reviewers below, we found the receptionist helpful and friendly. It's comfortable walking distance to Jardin the Luxembourg if you want some air, and to Notre Dame cathedral if you want to have a bit of a touristy walk. The Air France buses to CDG stop only a short distance away (on the other side of Gare Montparnasse); if your luggage is reasonable, you can walk it over. The street is a bit quieter than in some other hotels close to the railway station.

The hotel is advertised as 3-star but I would rate it an average 2-star. Small rooms; very basic (and rather scruffy) bathroom sparsely provided with towels and toiletries. A kettle for tea/coffee (which is unusual for France) but only flimsy plastic cups and no milk. No fridge or safe in the room.

However, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and despite overlooking a busy road junction and railway station it was not too noisy (though the absence of air conditioning means you need to open the windows at night). The staff on reception were polite and helpful.

If you are travelling to or from Gare Montparnasse the Miramar is ideally situated. The station is literally opposite, about a two minute walk. Though the hassle of the most complicated metro interchange in the world (Montparnasse-Bienvenüe) is best avoided: there are other metro stations almost as near. There is no shortage of good and fairly cheap restaurants and cafés where it is possible to have a cheaper breakfast than that in the hotel.

Paris hotels are expensive so by Paris standards it is probably average value for money. If I paid the same price anywhere else in Europe (except London I suppose) I would expect four-star service.

If you just need to stay for 1 night or 2 and you need to be close to Gare Montparnasse, then this is a good place. There are shops, cafes, restaurants around the place and just across is Montpartnasse station where you will also find the city bus terminal. A short walk is Saint Germain and just outside the hotel is the Montpartnasse Bienvenue metro. So it really is all about the convenience. The lift and the rooms are tiny as expected but clean but walls are so thin that you can hear people talking in the next room otherwise I think this hotel is okay. I would still recommend this hotel.

I have been only once to Paris, so some people might not agree with me.
I have visited Paris with my wife and I have booked the Hotel on advance. For my opinion, the hotel was in a very good location, but the employees of the shift when I arrived was very rude without any reason and that gave me a bad impression about the hotel in general. The next morning the rest of the staff was more friendly. However I liked the place. It is a little bit narrow in the corridors, but maybe that is normal for Paris.

The other thing that I liked in this hotel, is the breakfast which was a typical a french breakfast. One of the best things about this hotel is that it is located above one of the metro stations, which connects you with all parts of Paris.
Depending on your taste, nearby you have Creperies, Turkish döners, McDonald, Restaurants.

I would recommend this hotel because of it location.

I had a room at the the top, there only 2 rooms on the six floor anyway, great views over the place, very close to Montparnasse Train Station. The room was big, very clean, quiet and usual standard breakfast. Even had coffee facilities inside which not many french hotels have.Would recommend as staff was very friendly ..

Room Tip: ask for rooms on the six floor
