“Basic but Good”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

Was at the hotel for late July 2013 for a week in a single bed room and had purchased as a last-minute deal which was very cheap for France (cheaper than most Hostels). Was very clean and came with a fan. However, there are only two showers for the hotel and I had to go down a level to use it and toilet was for the whole floor but never had to wait for either. Towels were changed several times while staying. The reception staff were very helpful and gave lots of help such as instructing how to rent the bicycles and where was good to eat nearby. Only a block away from one of the busier tube lines that lads to the Louvre and the centre of Paris which was great for getting about. Outside was a junction as mentioned in other reviews but I found it not too noisy and things quietened down after roughly 11. This is a basic hotel so do not delude yourselves that you are going to get the best bed and most spacious room you'll ever find and may not be quite right for that special romantic getaway, but for other places I've stayed at in capital cities as a single person in Europe, this is definitely a step up and would recommend for someone who comes back late and leaves early in the morning to sightsee as much as possible. Thank Tolbiac for the stay!

Room Tip: Breakfast not included but plenty of supermarkets nearby - ask to keep food in their refrigerator...

It was like £50+ per night. We were staying in the room at the rate, they offered only a fan, towels, etc. The bathroom is separate from the room, we had to use the shower room on every event (4, 6) floor but the toilet is provided every floor. It's quite small, there's like 6 floors but no elevators, so if you have a lot of heavy bags, make sure to get the lower floors.

It's quite close to metro stations, easy to go to places. The view from the window is quite nice cuz of the neighbourhood. Breakfast excludes from the price.

Room Tip: Get the lower levels if you comes with the elders or you have heavy bags cuz there's no elevator...

Great location, near two metro stops making sight-seeing easy. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful; the rooms are comfortable and very affordable considering the location. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for something nice but cheap

First of all it's a great location for Chinatown and enjoying the Asian restaurants around. Lot's of metro stations.
We had a double room w/ shower and toilet, it was small but clean. Although the room is small, space is used efficiently, it has a small closet and table. The price wasn't exactly cheap but it was for Paris. It was quite noisy at night and early mornings but that may be because our room was opposite the shared showers.
The reception staff were very helpful and patient and let us use the kitchen fridge to store some of our stuff. After 9:00pm reception closes and the main door is locked, you're given a key for it. It's a little bit hard to open but nothing a wiggle and push won't solve!
Overall a reasonable/ideal place for a short stay, must warn you there is no elevators (as mentioned on the website) so heavy luggage may proved bit of a hassle especially for higher floors.

Room Tip: Ask for lower floor if you have heavy luggage because there is no elevators and try to avoid the roo...

Very nice rooms for a budget hotel, toilets are kept clean. Shower wasn't the worst i've used but could have been cleaner, very small and only two for the entire hotel, however never had to wait to get in them even in the mornings.
Staff were all very friendly, some more than others, seemed happy to recommend places to eat around the hotel and all knew english to some level.
Sink in the room and a fan, which was great as it was very warm. There is some noise from the street in-front but it didn't disrupt our sleep, there are plenty or restaurants close by an small supermarkets.
Overall very happy with our stay for the price and location giving us easy access to the metro straight into the center of Paris, or walking distance if you've got the time. Would use this hotel again when visiting if the budget is tight.

This is as cheap as it gets for Paris. Close to public transport and a variety of asian restaurants within the neighbourhood. My room was small, but not cramped. It was clean, basic and had everything you needed for a short stay. Staff were very friendly.

The staircase is quite narrow so be prepared to carry your luggage up to your room!

Great location, near the Metro, with easy access pretty much everywhere. Nice and helpful staff. Located in Oriental part of Paris, which we liked (Oriental for Europe, not really oriental). Room was clean. Small, but adequate. No fridge. But the street noise!! The only time it went nearly quiet was at about 5:00 am. No lift, so if you want a lower floor, then you get more noise. There's not real escape from the high cost and the number of tourists. Paris is beautiful. And for that, you pay. Not good value on a world scale, but for Paris ...

Room Tip: Proble. No Lift. Old wooden stairs. Lower is more noise. Higher is more effort (with bags etc)
