“Chic boutique hotel with some quirks”
Reviewed 26 September 2013 via mobile

Nice location- relatively quiet, and upscale part of Paris, still only may be 10-15 min walk to Trocadero. Hotel is freshly renovated, in a style that brings to mind Philippe Starck- modern and well... glamorous. Our room was small, but by far not the smallest by Paris standards. Clean. Beautiful interior, nice color scheme and mood lighting. Very comfortable bed. The couple quirks are as follows. Toilet is separated into a windowless tiny cubby, covered floor to ceiling in small black tile. The light inside is motion sensor operated. So if you, for instance are sitting, fairly motionless, taking care of business, the toilet room goes pitch black after about a minute. The alternative is to pretend you're a politician watching over a parade- do a constant slow wave. The light will stay on. This is more of a problem if you're a man, going "#1"- it's hard to aim when you don't see the target. Harder still, when you have to do jumping jacks for the light to come back on. I think for the price they charge- they could just keep the toilet room light on permanently.
Second quirk- bathroom that opens up unto the room, and no shower curtain. Basically- you have to be cool with catching glimpses of your "roommate" showering. It is probably meant to add a sexy vibe to the place, I definitely didn't mind, but it might be uncomfortable to some people.
Staff is very pleasant and courteous. The gentleman who checked us in, brought our big heavy bag all the way to the top floor, although he wasn't a bellboy. Lady on duty the next day let us check out late, giving us a place, and a couple of very valuable hours to get dolled up for an event we were to attend
Overall- I was very pleased with our stay at Villa Glamour. If you're out for a romantic getaway in Paris, and like to watch each other shower- highly recommend it.

The superior and deluxe rooms are clean and spacious for Paris standards. As for the rest of the rooms, I have only seen them and found them too small even for a short stay. The one on the ground floor seems especially loud due to its proximity to the street and the door bell. The staff is nice and friendly, and the hotel is located within walking distance of both the OECD and the Eiffel Tower.

First of all- perfect location for transportation and walking.
Very nice hotel, beautiful furniture rooms, romantic. Small room? Noice from street? doesn't matter, it's magic place.
Nice employees, friendly and helpful. I will be back, for sure, shortly.

+ Hotel ideally located for OECD meetings.

- WLAN doesn't work properly; lost connectio all the time with iPhone.

- all kinds of "creative" lighting, but pretty complicated to just turn on the light.

- shower sophisticated with all kinds of gimmicks, but to "just shower" is a major undertaking in figuring out all the switches, levers and settings

Our room was on the ground floor with the only window just above street level. When we arrived the room was extremely hot; although we turned the radiator off we did not feel safe sleeping with the window open which ensured a sleepless night.

The plumbing did not work properly. Both the basin and the WC were partly blocked and took a long time to empty. We reported this problem twice but nothing was done. Neither the basin or the bidet had a plug.

We stayed for 2 nights. On the first day our room had not been serviced when we returned at 17.00.

I cannot speak about the other rooms in the hotel but our room needs to be completely refurbished to bring it up to an acceptable standard.
