The owner, Martine (and her friend in her absence) was responsive and helpful in answering queries and in both check in and check out. The owner actually is still living in his apartment (of course, absence during the rental period; but available through email/internet/whatsapp and a standby phone number - it is an added comfort as we are not French speaking).
I chose this location at the advice of my Parisian friend. (I shortlisted other locations which my friend advised against and in my friend's words "when we travel, we want to feel safe in where we stay"). The apartment is within walking distance (about 5 minutes or less) to two subway stations, thus very convenient for going anywhere in the City. In addition, restaurants and grocery stores are all close by. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Eiffel Tower, thus a sunset walk to the Eiffel Tower after dinner is an option. We also enjoyed our visit to Musée de l'Armée (Army Museum; < 20 minutes walk from the apartment), in particular the amazing collection of Old Armour and Weapons.
I felt uncomfortable with the absence of a TV when I first arrived. Subsequently I noted that we don't really need it as we are using our own tablets and Android phones through the Wifi provided for both communication and entertainment after the long day (we were all tired from the extensive walking required in our sight seeing there). I had problem in using the Wifi in the smaller bedroom (no problem in other areas) and the shower facilities are about average for an apartment. We heard some background noise from the subway at night, which however did not bother us and was not loud as the apartment is facing other apartments' roof, i.e., located opposite to the main road and on higher floor.
The apartment is more spacious than we expected (still relatively small compared to North American apartment size) and we found it better and more comfortable than squeezing in a small hotel room in particular for a long stay. When we arrived "home", we have everything accessible like living at home (washing machine, kitchen, coffee maker, fridge....).
Don't expect the service of a hotel (as it is a rental apartment); however, overall I enjoyed my stay there and definitely would prefer this to staying in a hotel, in particular during our stay we could stay in touch with the owner/landlord who has been very hospitable and helpful to make our stay and sight seeing trip as comfortable as possible. At the end of our stay, a strike was announced that could affect our flight back home, and Martine checked up on the local news for us and updated us on latest development. Luckily our flight was not affected but we still very much appreciate the extra steps that Martine took to non French speaking travelers like us.
Taxi from Eurostar station is about EUR 20 and to the CDG Airport is EUR 60, for us.
