“Reasonable price, good location, nice property, helpful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

We spent two days in Paris sightseeing. The Hotel De La Paix was reasonably priced based on other similar properties, located within a few feet of the 4 and 6 Metro (Raspail station) and provided room for 3 people in the Jr Suite (many hotels we looked at in Paris would require 2 rooms for three people).

This hotel is on a nice quiet street, is very clean, and has a lot of extra touches that made it one of our favorite hotels on this trip. The staff was very friendly and provided great guidance on how to get around the city, this saved us time and money. The room was very comfortable, we upgraded to the Jr suite for the extra few feet of space, and it was worth the money. The first morning we ordered coffee in the room, something I usually avoid due to the high price of room service, and they delivered coffee, pastries and jams – we loved it and the price was not out of line.

From a location perspective the hotel is located next to Raspail Metro station and provides access to lines 4 and 6. We bought a 2 day metro pass and used it to get from sight to sight. The 4 and 6 lines are good for people wanting to see the Eiffel tower, the Louver, and Notre Dame because they provide access without having to switch trains (less than a 10 minute ride). In addition the lines will give you good access to the Paris EST and Paris Gare Lyon train stations. When we arrived by train at Gare Lyon we took a taxis but I would recommend using the Metro to get to the hotel, one transfer very easy.

I recommend this hotel for people who want to save money for food and fun but also want a nice comfortable hotel with extra touches.

Room Tip: If you have more than two people go ahead and upgrade tot he Jr suite it is worth it.

Dear Rasbill, we thank you for your time and hope to see you again!
It’s true that it is hard to accommodate 3 people in a room in Paris, but we are glad to offer the Junior Suite at a reasonable price to satisfy your needs.
Our team do his best to fulfill your expectations, and the service and the courtesy is one our watchwords.

We hope you enjoyed your stay with us !

Best regards,

Quentin

We've just returned from a short family trip to Paris and stayed at this lovely hotel. It's conveniently located next to Raspail Metro and if you are arriving by Eurostar, it's about 20 minutes on the Metro from Gare Du Nord with no need to change Metro Line. There were 2 adult & 2 children in our room (junior suite) and although a little on the small side it was perfect for a short stay. Breakfast was nice, plenty of croissants, fresh fruit salad, tea/coffee, cereals and omlettes on request. The staff manning the desk were very helpful and were on hand to give advice as local places to eat and the best way to get to a tourist attraction.
The hotel is a short walk from Rue de Montparnasse where there plenty of places to eat and drink. We had a great trip to Paris and would recommend this hotel as a base to explore the city.

Really cosy hotel.. Literally opposite Raspail metro. So very handy. In the heart of Montparnasse. Great area, a short walk from Jardin du Luxembourg. This hotel is great for people who want somewhere cosy, modern, clean but don't need all the silly luxuries or a 5 star. As our aim for our weekend away was to see paris and not be hanging in the hotel. Rooms and en suite bathrooms are very clean, price is perfect.. Feels better than a 3 star but it doesn't have all the 4-5 star qualities like laundry service or room service or dinner. Why do you need that when you are in paris?
Thanks for our room upgrade too- we enjoyed our 2nd stay with you!

Great little hotel with excellent metro links. Yes the rooms are a little small but why come to Paris if you are going to do anything but sleep in your hotel room. Staff very friendly and helpful, quick to point out good local restaurants. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed everyone of them. If i was to stay in Paris again i would consider this hotel for sure.

The location of the hotel is fantastic with its convenience to CDG airport and the metro system. The staff is wonderful, helpful and kind. The hotel itself is clean, well maintained and quiet. Could not ask for a better place to stay.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay in this hotel. My first reaction to seeing the room on the top floor was that it was too small, but then again this is Paris, and so only realistic for the great price we paid. Room was very clean, and bathroom modern and clean as well. Bed, very comfortable as well, and the room clean.

The hotel has good staff, who are more than willing to help you in English, and excellent location with Montparnasse railway station a walk away, or the Raspaille metro station right next to the hotel.

I would choose this place again for its location and price/quality.

The best thing about this hotel is it's amazing location! We stayed for 3 nights in December and had a wonderful time.

Raspail Metro is a 30 second walk from the hotel and it has a straight line to Gare Du Nord (we travelled on the Eurostar) as well as a straight line to the Eiffel Tower. The area surrounding the hotel is also good, Montparnasse Tower is a stones through away as well as lots of cool bars, cafes, street food and restaurants.

The staff in the hotel were extremely helpful. It was my boyfriends 30th during our stay & they were quick to provide us with ice, champagne bucket & glasses on my request.

The hotel has WiFi, although it doesn't work great, but allowed us to Instagram a few photos upon our return to the hotel in the evening! The room was quite small, but the bathroom was lovely and clean. It was quite pricey, however, I think that's the case for every good hotel in Paris - so we weren't too take aback. The great location probably allows them to charge a bit more.

Overall, an enjoyable stay!
