“A gem tucked away in the perfect neighborhood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

My husband and I just loved this little hotel! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Although the rooms are small, they're not cramped, and the space is utilized well. We had room for both of our small rolling suitcases and both small duffels. There's even plenty of room in the closet! The bathroom is also typically tiny, but it's been redone in a lovely modern fashion, and there's storage under the sink which is unheard of! The bed was one of the more comfortable I've encountered overseas. Noise level was minimal, especially since we were on the top floor facing a courtyard. The only noise came from the hallway/stairwell.

One thing to note: there is a lift, but it's also tiny (noticing a theme here?). This hotel is not very accessible for anyone with mobility problems because the lift stops between floors, and you either have to go up or down the stairs to get to your actual floor.

That being said, I can't wait to stay here again! The location is perfect: quiet, more residential, great choices of restaurants and cafes within a 5-10 minute walk, and right near the metro and a taxi stand, whichever suits your style.

Small, charming hotel close on a leafy boulevard close to restaurants, shopping and specialty stores. Friendly staff, clean & comfortable rooms with new french country décor. A welcome break after a long day of sightseeing! Great Air Conditioning and quiet rooms. Excellent location close to Luxembourg Gardens where we enjoyed a morning run, and a block away from the Raspail metro, 30 minute leisurely walk to the Musee dOrsay. If you are looking for a spot away from the downtown frenzy, in a residential and vibrant neighborhood, this is a nice option!

Room Tip: Quieter rooms are on side facing away from the main street.

Thank you very much for your comment, it is very kind to you to give us your feedback. We are more than happy to read that you enjoyed your stay at the Hôtel de la Paix. The hotel enjoys a great location near beautiful Parisian landmarks but also great restaurants, which give you the opportunity to do everything by walk.
We hope to see you again!

Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We asked them for directions and they were very helpful. Although our room was small, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The towels were changed daily. As we were out sight-seeing for most of the day, the size of the room did not bother us much. The hotel is situated close to the metro train station and it was very convenient for us to take public transport. However, if you are looking for a luxurious accommodation, this is certainly not the place you should choose.

Very small room with comfortable bed and tiny updated modern bathroom. Despite the small size of the room, it is well thought out to maximize the space. Nice little touches like a movable shower, shelving under the sink, roomy wardrobe, small desk and chair, bench for suitcase and night stands with shelves. The location is great. Away from the main tourist area but a 2 minute walk to the underground and walking distance to Notre Dame. Lots of cafés and restaurants in the area. Really a great area and nice 3 star hotel. Good choice. Staff very helpful.

Just a 2 minute walk to the metro and surrounded by Cafe's, this is a little gem. Staff are very friendly and the hotel has a boutique, French feel. The rooms aren't huge but if you plan on spending time in Paris rather than in the rooms then that won't bother you. We had 2 kids in a double room and it was fine. Breakfast is optional but they let us keep some bread and cheese (little supermarket round the corner) in the kitchen, so we could have a snack if we popped back to the hotel. It's quaint, friendly and good value - right in the heart of Montparnasse.

What a beautiful little hotel in a great area of Paris. Standard issue small rooms which Paris is known for, but that is the only standard thing of this hotel. This is a great hotel with few rooms in the Montparnasse area. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are small but still well done for their size. The breakfast is standard but still great with a good variety of breads, jams, cheese etc.

The hotel itself is close to a great little bakery just a minute down the street (closed on Sunday's), and also close to a main subway line too. The area is very nice and clean compared to some of the other areas of Paris. Overall, just about everything is within reach by taking zero or one subway connections.

The only shortfall is the bathrooms, the size of the shower and overall design is not optimal. I'm pretty standard size at 6'0" 180lbs and i could just fit in the shower, if you have a large waistline or big broad shoulders, you will have trouble turning around in the shower. But thats the extent of the problems we encountered, overall the stay was amazing.

Arriving in early morning Paris traffic, the restfulness of the hotel's area was most welcome. An older small hotel, with a staff that never stops being helpful. Interestingly, to fit in the tiny elevator, the landings are at the 1/2 floor level- you quickly learn that stopping on 3 means you either carry your luggage up 1/2 a flight to the third floor, or down 1/2 a flight for the second floor.
Breakfast is wonderful, and the room is pleasant. WiFi works well, as does the HVAC- hooray!
The stall shower was a little tight- but worked well. Our room faced the back, so we had no street noise. Our friends, in front, said they had none if the windows were closed. 1/2 a block to bus and subway, and pastry, and food-beverage store. At least twenty restaurants within a 2 block walk. Sorry to leave, but glad we were directed here by a friend.

Room Tip: Ask for twin beds- gets a slightly larger room
