Go for the aligot (mashed potatoes with a ton of cheese) and leave your calorie counting behind. Overall a decent meal. The staff seemed a little distant at first but warmed up as the meal went on. Portions are big and the food tasty. Save room for the chocolate mousse.

We enjoyed a complete meal with cocktails, appetizers (the melon soup and steak tartare were wonderful), dinner and desserts. The food was excellent. The quality of the service made the evening especially nice. The staff tolerated our imperfect French, and never rushed us. This restaurant met all our expectations for a lovely meal in Paris.

This restaurant was only a few doors down from the Hotel Georgette, and proved to be a worthwhile dinner stop. Initially, the staff can seem a little brusque, but they warmed up after a little while. The food is quite good, definitely on the rich side, and reasonably priced. I'm not familiar with Auvergne cuisine, but this seemed authentic. They also have a nice wine list.

Second time in this restaurant, last time around it was two years ago. Location, table setting and menu have not dramatically changed, ultimately one comes here mostly for a rich, traditionally Auvergnat menu/cuisine: good fois gras, home made, absolutely recommended ham, it comes in very long, hand cut slices, deliciously mild at the taste, and the lentil salade, with green lentils and herbs. Amongst the main courses, excellent roasted beef with green beans, the traditional sausage with aligot, equally traditional potato, cheese and garlic mash. To finish in lightness, a superb chocolate mousse which shall not be missed. All in all no surprises, but compared to two years ago definitely less warmth, a more detached and sometimes even "uncaring" service and the aligot was not as tasty we remembered it!

We were a party of four and ordered different entrees such as duck and lamb. As usual, each of us tasted what the others had on their plates. Everything was outstanding, of course. We had expected nothing less. What I liked most was the "aligot", which is melted cheese blended into mashed potatoes. Just the way it is served is mouth watering. (It is dropped onto your plate from a wooden ladle held 3 feet above your plate!). However, the best was yet to come: We had ordered "mousse au chocolat" as desert. We were the last guests and the owner placed a huge bowl on our table and encouraged us to empty it, because he was going to prepare new mousse for the next day. We (nearly) followed his advice and needed two digestives after the feast.
