We were walking to a different restaurant when we passed this place. For various reasons we decided not to go to the other place and returned here, and I'm so glad we did! The place was empty which made us pause, but perhaps it was too early for the locals. We were seated straight away and given time to review a varied and interesting menu. Our starters came quickly, we had chicken satay skewers to share, and they were delicious. For mains we chose a Thai green curry and a beef massaman. I had the jasmine rice while my husband had sticky rice. We also had the tiniest prawn crackers I've ever seen! All the food was freshly cooked and bursting with flavour. We would recommend this place, and be happy to return.

Not very authentic Thai nor Vietnamese, but the food is good. The Pho was decent, so was the beef. Not a bad choice if you are hungry.

Following TripAdvisor review we visited this restaurant fora business lunch. It is a small restaurant but very clean and well decorated. The foods are well presented and taste great too. Quite authentic compared to the foods I had in my Thailand trip. Menu is a bit limited, no Thai ice tea or Pad-kee-Mao. But not a big issue, plenty of good dishes for traveler.

In love with this restaurant. Delicious thai and vientmanien homemade food and adorable welcome. The nems are amazing and the vegetarian food too (try the tofu curry vert for a little spicy, I love it) and dont forget to ask for the dessert of the day they are awesome. Most pleasant experience and I totally recomend this place. Dont miss it if you are in Paris !

We visited Thai Nam on two nights on a recent trip to Paris. On the strength of other reviews had tried to book a table prior to arrival via their website but had no reply. So, as it was close to where we were staying we turned up on spec on a Friday night. Happily, we were early by Parisian standards and there was a table that was just coming free.

The place is tiny, maybe 30 covers in one small room. So small that if you're unfortunate enough to be seated at the table next to the street door you'll probably have to keep moving your chair. Looked at positively, it's intimate!

That said the welcome was warm, welcoming and immediate, at least for the drinks. As for the food, its arrival was somewhat more erratic. My partner's soup and main course had come and the latter almost gone before my starter materialised. The food, though, was beautifully presented, extremely tasty and well justified the wait. The wait, we were told on our next visit, was down to a new member of kitchen staff getting up to speed.

Over two nights, once as a couple and once as a foursome, we loved the Thai dishes, soups and mains, which had an authenticity usually missing from UK Thai restaurants tuned in taste and ingredients to perceived British tastes. Also loved the herby freshness and subtle flavours of the Vietnamese dishes.

Intimate, quirky and even chaotic, Thai Nam gave us a great experience: great service and great food. Just expect the unexpected.
