“Never disappointed with food there, and wonderful waiters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

We've been to 4 different L'Atelier de Joen Robuchon restaurants before (London, Vegas, Tokyo, and Singapore), and every time the food has been exceptional. This was no different when it came to food. In terms of service, it depends. Making the booking was a bit of an issue. I tried to book a few days in advance for a special occasion (wedding anniversary) and was told there were no tables available. Back and forth emails and I was told there was a booking at 6:30 on the day I wanted, even though I asked for any time after 8. I called and was told to come any time after 9:30, which was perfect for me as we had plans. Upon arriving we were escorted to the bar nearby and we waited for almost an hour for the table! Being fans of the restaurant we didn't mind much, but still it wasn't great.

Once inside, the waitress (Aisha), and another waiter were an absolute delight. Even though I mentioned in the emails back and forth that this was a special occasion, none of the waiters knew. When Aisha knew, she made it extra special and took us into the kitchen and we took pictures with the cooking staff which was a great gesture. After the meal we were presented with a wonderful dessert for the special occasion which was also appreciated.

The food is always great. I went with the tasting menu which was excellent, but my wife ordered off the menu and both were wonderful in taste, delivery, and presentation.

P.S.- Always order the burgers if you can! Two mini burgers with amazing beef and foie gras. Everything is god but do NOT miss those.

“A great discovery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

Love this kind of informal bar style settings and fine dining. The food, wine and service was excellent. The "discovery" menu with wine pairing was a great experience.

“Excellent food, crowded dining room, brisk service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

We have dined here previously and this time we were seated in a dining room expansion, which was very crowded and the space allocation is too cramped. The servers were working off of a table right behind us and the vibe was not at all fine dining. The food, as always, was great and very creative. For parties of two, suggest eat at the counter and not in the dining room.

“good food as expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

Booked a few weeks in advance. Got to sit at the bar but not seeing the kitchen, disappointed. Tried the tasting menu. Quantity was good enough for me. Food was good as expected, equivalent to the price. I didn't expect good service as sitting at the bar (what do you expect anyway if not serving at the table?) Not much interaction with the waiting staff behind the counter as he spoke little English with too strong French accent.
Anyway I came here pretty much only for food, nothing else to be bothered.

“Good but not life-changing ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

By all accounts and reviews I was expecting to have a religious experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere and ambiance were very original and high quality, as was the experience of seeing the food prepared and interacting with a very professional staff. I found the first dish (gazpacho, basically) to be as advertised and quite good. The steak was the disappointment. Not a serious portion, and too grisly/tough to be considered grade A. I happily paid the bill realizing it was a one-of-a-kind experience (flanked by Parisians on all sides I might add, whoever says locals don't go here might be going too early) and would recommend it amongst many other restaurants, but not strictly based on the cuisine.
