“Lovely setting, friendly efficient service”
Reviewed 12 November 2012

This hotel chain eatery has very good food, impecable service and one of the nicests maitre d'hotel in Paris. Unfotunately, it is rather expensive, count of way over 300 Euros, simple wine included for 2 people at lunch.

“Big price but average food”
Reviewed 26 April 2012

Stayed in the Baltimore hotel and took the easy option of eating in the hotel.
The food was good (but not exceptional) but expensive. Two courses from he menu d'hote plus 2 glasses of wine broke through Euro 60. Yes, it's a touristy par of Paris, so I guess you have to accept it.
The starter - prawns with a avaocado mouse - was OK. the prawns were "mushy" but the mouse was OK. Main course was veal with mixed vegetables, which was rich and very tasty. The thinly sliced veal was very nicely cooked.
Service was pleasant and friendly - especially given my non-existent French, and the sommelier was very happy to chat about their extensive wine menu - even though I only ordered the house red.

“Good service, good food”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

Attentive service ( which can be a big deal in Paris , as seems to be universally known) and good food. The restaurant not outstanding but still pretty good. Unexpected in a Hotel called Baltimore in a touristy area geared to Tourists - which are often wrongly not equated with being connoisseurs

“In a word: gotcha!”
Reviewed 16 March 2012

We booked on fourchette and expected a memorable dining experience.. We visit Paris frequently and always try to to go to one upscale restaurant. This one was upscale in price only: Know the feeling where expensive wine and entrees are oh-too-smoothly "offered" to you? The one glass of champagne we had to start was bright, sparkling with a depth of flavor. Then we had fois gras, a portent of what was to follow., It tasted mushy and stale. My husband had fish, which was so tasteless I can't recall the type; the beef I had was restaurant bland. By the time the desserts came, we couldn't believe our bad luck. The desserts, as expected by this point, were very pretty -- and mediocre. The only plus, if you can call it that, was the "entertainment" provided by the very loud middle aged gentleman at the next table doing his best to impress his very pretty and very young dining companion. When the bill came, we felt ripped off in terms of value and sad over these low culinary standards.

“Menu prestige”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We recently dined at La Table du Baltimore. It was a very good meal but not truly memorable -- it can't be compared with two-star institutions such as La Palme D'Or in Cannes. But for a fairly moderately priced Parisian restaurant with one Michelin star, the evening was most enjoyable.
The menu consisted of celery soup as an amuse bouche, followed by a delicious and generous portion of "Préssé de foie gras de canard au magret fumé" . This was followed by excellent scallops as the fish course, veal entrecote as the meat course and a yummy chocolate desert with coriander ice-cream.. The menu prestige included a glass of champagne (Billecart-Salmon rosé) a very good riesling, a good red wine, and a glass of Banyuls Gérard Bertrand with the desert. Coffee and a half bottle of mineral water were also included. The price? 95 Euros per person -- very reasonable for Paris.

We were there on a Monday evening and the restaurant was very quiet; there were only three other parties in the restaurant. The headwaiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Though he only spoke French with us, his diction was so clear and slow that we had no trouble following him. The only minus was our female server. She was Arctic when it came to personality -- bordering on insolence. Not something one wants to meet when dining out with one's family. We’ve occasionally met this type of female server in France. They mistake cold rudeness for professionalism.
