We enjoyed a very tasty dinner in the Marais very close to the apartment we had rented. We shared an appetizer that included some delicious salumi and cheeses. The two of us had a hard time finishing this ample dish for two. The pasta was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful sauce. The bread was delicious as you would expect. And the butter was so good; wish we could find this type of butter in the US.

Well recommended by the Hotel concierge we went to this traditional restaurant without a reservation but with assurance we would get a table. The entrance hall with a bar is small and offers no comfort with the inconvenience the kitchen door is there. Thanks to the Hotel concierge we were greeted by the restaurant manager that offered us 2 flutes of champagne on the house.
The view of the saloon and chandeliers was great. After almost one hour when we were ready to leave we finally got a table but on the first floor. Terrible area, crowded, dark, passing thru another kitchen and even louder. We sat on a table for two but my wife was quite unhappy so was I. We ordered appetizers which were OK but decided to leave as we could not stand the noise and the ambiance it self. Maybe it would be a different story on the street level saloon. Will not come back.

We enjoyed a few meals here on a recent stay in Paris. Excellent pasta, especially the scampi ravioli. Also the assiette italienne was lovely. Beautiful cheeses and prosciutto and such. Reasonable prices for Paris as well, and we found the staff friendly.

We arrived late to Paris and needed somewhere to eat. After battling the airport and the Metro, our minds were not ready to bound full on into a full French speaking restaurant. We came across Le Bucheron with an excellent looking menu and a little sign on the door telling us that some was in English. The food was absolutely delicious. The gnocchi melted in our mouths and the salad with chevre and walnuts was to die for. The servers were very understanding of English speakers although didn't speak much themselves. The menu however, was in English. A great stop for the first night in Paris!

We stumbled upon this restaurant with my wife by accident, when menu looked attempting, we had to go in. Service was ok, fast enough and waiters attention was easy to obtain. Food was great! Fresh, tasty and well made. Especially desserts and pastas, so good! We recommend!
