““Lives Up To its Hype and its Name””
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

This elegant spot on the quiet ave Rapp in the 7e provides superb food, attentive and friendly service and elegant surrounding worthy of its Michelin Bib Gourmand. The Euro 38 fixed price dinner menu is, relatively speaking, a bargain in this neighborhood. We dined on one of the evening’s specials, a perfectly prepared John Dory in a surprising lobster and mushroom broth. Dessert was another special recommended by our waiter, fresh strawberries from the Loire Valley with the richest Crème Chantilly imaginable. Le Clos des Gourmands is distinguished by the quality of its wait staff who were friendly and knowledgeable. Our young waiter spoke excellent English but was also happy to slow down his French to accommodate our efforts, and the Maitre’d was genuinely gracious. Make no mistake that this restaurant, within hailing distance of the Eiffel Tower, is not a ‘locals only’ club. Particularly at the earlier seating, non-Parisians will occupy at least half the seats, but those who still believe in the stereotype of snooty and indifferent Parisian service should be prepared to have their preconceived notions challenged.

“Excellent French Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

My daughter and I had a fabulous meal at Le Clos de Gourmets. The restaurant itself is charming, the food was delicious and the presentation was exquisite. The service was excellent and we were never rushed. It was the best meal that we had during our week-long trip to Paris.

“Great choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

We actually were looking for another restaurant, but were so hungry that we stopped here, and what a great choice. It was a fixed menu, and the price was reasonable for Paris. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

“Excellent and inventive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

We had very good service and the food was excellent. The chilled plump oysters and asparagus soup were wonderful. Entrees of lamb and red mullet were prepared and seasoned to enhance the dish. A wonderfully refreshing lemon sorbet with basil and candied fennel and chocolate cocoa mouse with dried apricot were both enjoyed. So good we are going again this week.
