“Stuffy/interesting. Aloof/attentive. Delicious/under-prepared. A contradiction.”

Hard to define this one. Stuffy old school restaurant that felt cramped, but at the same time feels like you're experiencing a little bit of Paris and a certain level of uncomfortableness added to the experience. Staff were both very friendly and at the same time quite aloof. Handwritten french menu not ideal, although totally our fault for not being fluent, the handwriting was appalling. Coerced into several choices due to time restraints for the waiters could not read the whole menu to us. Having said that, the best steak I have had in a long time. But, crab starter crunchy, (shell?) under prepared (am I missing something?...).

Oh, and it's on the pricey side.

Glad we went, hit and miss, an experience.

One of the best meals we had during our week in Paris. Absolutely delicious and wonderful from beginning to end. It reminded me of a French Il Mulino in New York...been around forever, great atmosphere of mainly foodie locals, and so much pride in food and presentation. Disclaimer: menu is hand written in French. The sole meuniere was perfect and my husband's filet au poivre was delightful. We both started with great salads as well.

Ate breakfast here on our way to museums. We had a great experience - good food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices. It happened to be delivery day and we got to see the delivery of lots of beautiful fresh produce and fresh flowers. One woman working there seemed simply delighted with her jobs of making flower arrangements for the tables. I enjoyed the fact the the staff spoke to us in French - that's part of the experience.

We didn't have a chance to have lunch or dinner here but the two breakfasts were delicious: Flaky croissants and lovely coffee served on pretty china accompanied by a large pot of jam and a plate of butter...No blister packs!
