We arrived at Passy Mandarin around 8:00 pm on December 30. The maitre d' seemed nonplussed that we did not have a reservation. Once we were seated we got the menus quick. The maitre d' who was also our waiter was a bit argumentative with a native speaker in our group when she asked specific questions about the dishes. Once we ordered the service was quick and courteous. The noodles that we ordered were not exactly what we ordered but were very tasty and my favorite part of the meal. A spicy pork dish had been toned down for parisian tastes but a bowl of spicy sauce was provided for more adventurous palates. The low point of the meal was the dim sum. While it was tasty it was not hand made, but for the price that is to be expected. A high note was a delightful steamed bok choy. The prices were good for Paris.

As a special added bonus, heated seats, automatic bidet and bum dryer made the bathrooms worth a visit.

I have been here many times over the years, and have never found fault. The service is warm and caring, and the dim sum are some of the most delightful I have ever had. In November (and on through January) they have Coquilles St. Jacques a la vapeur, with a bit of spicy sauce, which is SO worth the trip to the 16th. Do it, also do the Passy "Village", walk around in the silence after 22.00, where everything is closed.

The ladies in here are nice. Food is fair. I usually carry out and eat at home. Sometimes the chicken has some tough pieces and bones when you don't expect them.
