I have eaten in many Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris, including Taillevent, Lucas Carton, and La Tour D'Argent. Pierre Gagnaire is by far the best (just as L'Ambroisie is by far the worst)! At Pierre Gagnaire the chef is incredibly creative, and if you order one plate, you will have at least 15 dishes, including various amuses-bouches! It is so much fun, especially as the dishes are spectacular! If you go to only one fancy restaurant in Paris, this should be it! Not to be missed!

The food either the Chef's menu or the a la carte menu is an experience. Anything from the a la carte menu is presented 6 different ways. The chef's menu is a never ending parade of french cuisine.

The staff is extremely helpful and well versed as would be expected in a 3 star Michelin establishment. Food allergies and dietary preferences were respected and taken care of.

I have been to a lot of nice restaurants but this was the best. The meal was excellent in every way. My daughter and I had the set lunch and we felt that this was terrific value for money at 85 euros per person. Nothing in this restaurant is done by halves. The amuse Bouches are perfect on their own! All the food was flawless and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. The wine list was extensive but there were good choices at reasonable prices. I cannot recommend the overall experience highly enough.

Arrived late at Paris Orly Airport due to flight delay and was very unfortunate to be stranded in a traffic congestion. Staff was still willing to take us in with great service and gesture.
Took the tasting menu of 2 different lunch menu. As a chef, im not easily impressed by food.
But the flavours combination right from the starter main and desserts were just perfect!
Service was excellent! They were very knowledgeable and was able to share with us the ingredients, method of cooking, origin of produce. They are very well trained. Good job!

I was at Pierre Gagnaire for. Valentine's on 2014. They had a special menu so I will refer to that. My wife and I often go to 2-3 Michelin star restaurants so I will use those as reference. I should say that I live in Spain so my culinary expectations are heavily biased by the Iberian style of cooking.

The place
The restaurant was very nice but nothing really distinctive. Just a nice traditional place within a hotel. Very classic, very nice.

The service
Perfect. There is little more to say. The timing of the dishes was at times a bit slow but the service was attentive, present but not intrusive, eloquently describing the dishes and remembering details (I have food allergies and no mistake was made).

The food
One does not come to this sort of restaurant for the service or the place...one comes for the food. So how does it compare, in my humble opinion, to other 3 star restaurants. The food is traditional French cuisine, perfectly delivered. There is little to no inventive cuisine. The food is flavorful but the presentation is just ok...for a 3 star of course. Compared to others the dishes are slightly larger and there are less of them...technically 7 plates but with the amuses bouches and the additional desserts you probably end up with 10-12 dishes...and walk out quite full (so less dishes than the 20 you get in other places but you end up eating too much). So it was a nice dinner but maybe not worth the almost $1,000 that the dinner cost for two...the company was great...but this is not facebook it's tripadvisor :)
