We came here on a Rick Steves' suggestion and found the owner to be incredibly rude. So much so that we left before being served. I cannot comment about the food but the service was absolutely terrible. After being in Paris for over a day I had started to believe that the myth of the pretentious Parisian had been busted but individuals such as the owner and/or manager working at Lou Pescadou make it easier said than done.
We were very polite when asking for an english menu and to be seated at a table that looked to be recently vacated. Instead of suggesting one of the many open tables in the restaurant, he told us that "We could wait" because the unoccupied table still had some wine in the bottle that sat upon it. I can understand the reasoning but the way that he spoke to us was condescending and unacceptable. Having worked in restaurants in the United States, I would never have treated a foreigner, or any diner for that matter, so rudely. We decided to leave before being seated. No matter how good the food is, it is not worth being treated so poorly.
