“A beautiful boutique hotel in a super location in Paris”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

We spent the weekend at Hotel Le Six in Paris. The location was ideal. Close to the metro and ten minutes walk to RER which brings you directly to the airport.
Service and staff excellent. Pleasant and accommodating. Rooms modern and all amenities. Molton Brown bathroom products and an excellent hair drier (always important for me). Slightly expensive but worth every penny. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Good selection and warm buffet also. Loads of restaurants and bars located just by the hotel. 5 minutes walk from the Luxembourg Gardens. An absolute gem!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking street brighter - otherwise overlooking atrium

We came to Paris for honeymoon and was shocked to find that our travel agent had booked us into a 3 star hotel that is ranked 1600 out of 1800 hotel in Paris on Trip Advisor! It was simply the most cramped and horrible hotel ever and I immediately started looking for an alternative.

After reading so many good reviews, I rang up and spoke to the lovely front manager who was happy to accommodate us at late notice and very understanding. After dropping our bags off at the reception as the room was yet to be ready, we looked around Paris and came back to hotel after dark. And I'm currently typing on my laptop in the actual room which means that wifi is great.

Imagine the surprise when we walked into an upgraded room (deluxe to a suite!) with champagne on ice and fruits on the dining table! Even had a personalized welcoming card. The suite is absolutely amazing with abundance of room and everything is so well laid out and thought through. It actually shames the Hilton Sydney's king suite that we stayed in for our honeymoon night. The suite is so quiet and clean that it makes you feel like you're at home rather than at a hotel.

The bed is amazingly comfortable and we both now feel completely refreshed and ready for another day in Paris. I simply can't stop raving about the hotel and will certainly be looking for excuses to come to Paris and stay here on future medical conferences!

Room Tip: the suite is actually amazing and worth the extra money that it demands. Will definitely go for the...

This is going to sound like a review written by someone employed by the hotel, but I promise you it isn't. We just had that pleasant of an experience at Le Six.

First, months before we even came to France, I was trying to narrow down our hotel options and got in contact with Anne, who runs the hotel. Ann's responses were very quick, helpful, and in perfect English. Our interactions with her convinced us to book at the hotel, along with a friend's recommendation.

When we arrived the room was very spacious for a European room. We had a junior suite, which by American standards was about as big as a normal sized hotel room. The room was in perfect condition, with beautiful modern decor. The lobby and other public areas were similarly gorgeous. If you're looking for a classic, old-Europe style feel this is not your place, but neither is it one of those super-trendy modern places. It was a nice middle ground that made the place feel new and hip without trying too hard.

Stayed with my wife for three nights and everyone was very helpful. We had an unsolicited email from the concierge a few days before our arrival asking if she could help us with restaurant reservations, an offer which was gratefully accepted as our French is not perfect. Martin, the night clerk, was also especially friendly and helpful.

The breakfast each morning was great. It was included in our room fee, so I'm not sure how much the extra fee is a la carte. I'm not sure we would have paid it, as there are plenty of cafes nearby that would have been a better value proposition, but since it was included it was nice to be able to just go downstairs, eat a nice meal, and then go back upstairs to get ready for our day.

The hotel is perfectly located a short walk (under 5 minutes) from 4 different Metro stations. It was extremely easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go.

In the end, I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It was our third hotel in Paris, and easily our favorite. Great location, great decor, and a wonderful staff that was attentive but not intrusive, and had no trace of any of those French-people-are-rude stereotype.

Pros:
Location
Decor
Service
Value for price

Cons:
A few nitpicky things that will depend on taste, e.g. my wife thought the mattress was too hard, but I thought it was ok. Nothing that would prevent me from staying again or recommending to others.

Room Tip: If it is not a busy time and you ask, you can probably get a junior suite upgrade.

Generally speaking the hotel is well managed. Professional staffs, elegant decoration ,cozy ambience, and the relatively spacious superior room are all its advantages. However, when the cost is taken into account, I believe the hotel should be better. The hotel charges for more than 200euros per night. For example, the breakfast is a little bit too simple for a boutique hotel. The variety of hams and sausages is small. Secondly, there is no complimentary mineral water in the room. Finally, the minor noise by the incoming and outgoing metro trains is a bit annoying for a sensitive person like me. Probably rooms on higher floors will be better.

Room Tip: Choose a room at higher floors

Dear Guest,

We thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel.

We appreciate your comments, they are very important to us and help us to improve ourselves.

Regarding the lack of complimentary mineral water in your room, please note that it is part of the turndown service procedure and one bottle is put in every room on a daily basis. We are sorry if by any reason you didn’t receive it.

The noise you may have heard is not from the metro since none is passing under the hotel. All the rooms are soundproof, I'm very sorry if you have been disturbed by the one way only street noise

For your next stay in Paris, please, do not hesitate to contact us for our best available rates and conditions.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Anne Levioux

After spending 1 night in the Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg (great experience, see other review), we had to change hotels since Observatoire was fully booked in they suggested this one with a special rate… a taxi picked us up and we were taken there…
The hotel has a “luxurious-modernish-spa” feeling, service at check-in was super efficient, warm and friendly, what you would expect in a 5 star hotel… we were give a room in the 1st floor… 1 window with view to central courtyard (that is, no view), quite silent, on the smaller side, with a big bathroom… the room is furnished in a modern way in brownish colors… there is a small desk, comfortable mattress, nice bedding, flat screen tv and a nice-size bathroom… however, very limited space for the luggage… typical of European hotels…
The clientele of the hotel seemed pretty upscale, some European families and young couples… the location is good if you want to experience a more authentic high profile Parisian neighborhood… not really walking distance (doable but not super close) from the main attractions in Paris, but with a metro station less than 1 block away… next door there is an organic supermarket offering all sorts of healthy foods at reasonable prices…
Breakfast (delicious) was included and it was the standard for Parisian standards, with the addition of a hot buffet with eggs, ham and sausages… the service was very attentive and courteous at all times…
In general we enjoyed our stay at Le Six… however, value for money, maybe I would prefer the Hotel Observatoire, apparently part of the same group…

We stayed at Hotel Le Six for a week to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary. It was the perfect hotel for us. Having stayed in St Germain before we knew we liked the area, but this location even exceeded our expectations. Last time we had stayed a bit closer to the Seine, but I much prefer where this hotel is situated. The street is very quiet, but close to Montparnasse subway, one of the most connected subway stops in Paris. Loved being close to Luxembourg Gardens. Rue Vavin is also super cute for strolling.

The hotel is beautiful. Small, stylish, modern and sophisticated. We had a good size room and very comfortable bed. Beautiful decor. The bathroom was gorgeous. Small little balcony facing the street.

The staff and service were incredible. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly and helpful. They gave great restaurant recommendations and called to make the reservations for us. Also gave detailed instructions to find the sweetest kid's toy store I've ever seen. I had a massage in the spa and it was lovely. Enjoyed the breakfast as well and drinks at the little lobby bar.

We will definitely stay at Hotel Le Six the next time we are in Paris. If only it were sooner!

Stayed there for honeymoon in mid Dec 2011. Spent 5 nights in the lovely suite room.
Service there was really good. They offered a lot travel information, recommend you restaurants and offered to book for you if you don't speak the language.
The location is good. Between 2 subway stations, 3-5 walking distance to the stations.
Breakfast wasn't too many choice tho. Food quality of room service was ok, can be improved.
