“A real Paris gem”
Reviewed 12 May 2013

This place has it all--pleasant surroundings, courteous staff, great food, and an absolute steal of a 30 Euro formule including aperitif, 3 courses, beverage, fromage, and cafe! We were really impressed in every way. It's near the top of our must return list for our next trip to Paris.

“the real McCoy”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Are you looking for the real McCoy?
This is it: good, tasty solid french dishes (think magret de canard, escargots, saumon a l oseille...), large choice of classical desserts ( mousse au chocolat, ile flottante, baba au rhum), served by a well trained, pleasant and efficient staff.
It's situated in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, a residential area on the west side of Paris, and considering the diners, I'd say its a favorite with the locals.
...and the price is right!
Beware, cell phones don't always work, depending on where you're seated.

“Really nice resturant.”
Reviewed 1 April 2013 via mobile

Me and my partner decided to go here based on the reviews as it was also not to far from our hotel in Paris. We made a reservation for 7.30 and turned up late but when we got the resturant they only had one other couple in there. However we sat down and ordered from the set menu which was one of the best I have ever eaten from. By the time the starters came the place was busy and it was a really pleasent atmosphere. It had a great local feel to the place, which we both wanted and loved. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Beautiful food and great staff, really enjoyed the evening.

“They do have great French restaurants in Paris!”
Reviewed 20 October 2012

Dined here with a group of colleagues at the recommendation of one who works in the area. Fortunately, she also made a reservation for us or - even mid-week - we would not have got a table. All of us selected from the Eu30 prix fixe menu, and all were delighted with their meal, which included an aperitif, a half-bottle of (satisfactory but nondescript) wine per person, and coffee. The prix fixe included a good selection of dishes but plenty of more complex dishes are available a la carte. The cooking was excellent and the service friendly. Other groups dining were obviously there for an evening in good company - this is not one of those near-silent temples to gastronomy that so many otherwise good restaurants in the UK contrive to descend to. This is simply a very pleasant place to eat good food.

The restaurant is almost on top of the Michel-Ange Auteiul metro, so quite easy to reach from central Paris, and worth the trip. Just remember that you will have to walk a few hundred metres to Michel-Ange Molitor to get the metro back into town.

I'm looking forward to dining there again on my next visit to Paris, but wondering whether my schoolboy French will serve to make a reservation - these are clearly essential

“Intimate, historical, welcoming”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

My daughter and I lucked out by popping in for dinner with no reservation on a Wednesday evening at 7:30pm. The place feels like a neighborhood favorite, not one frequented by tourists, although I'm sure there are plenty. Elegant enought to have places set with wine glasses, but not white-tablecloth fancy. Saw a nice pair of jeans on one man, but most men and women were in slacks. We were seated in the front third where cozy barrel chairs encircle small round tables. The service was thoughtfully set for both of us to have a nice view of the place and through the window to the outside. The front area was seated with upscale couples, some English, and a few singles who comfortably dined alone with a good book. Families and larger parties are seated in intimate booths in the middle and in the back section wtih long tables and benches. The bread served before dinner (oddly without a plate) was delicious as were the tomatoes with mozzarella, swordfish, creme brulee, and profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce. All for less than what you would expect to pay for such quality food, service, and history. Moliere and Voltaire are among the storied patrons. Loved it. This is where I'd dine if I lived in Paris.
