Nothing special. Just a simple eatery with poor service. The food was less than average for paris. Located across the street for the Novotel we were staying at, it was convenient to try once.

While staying in the Novotel Paris Les Halles we passed this unassuming cafe several times before stopping for drinks one afternoon. After enjoying the good service and convenient location we left thinking we would not be back. Two days later, during a snowstorm, we returned for dinner after receiving a recommendation from a local. What great service. Our waittress spent the time to explain in English each item on the menu, noting that the chef has an African background. Each of our four meals were very good, with some subtle unexpected flavoring. A true unexpected pleasure.

Tucked away in the back street just down from our Hotel (L'Empire), the Louvre and Rue de Rivoli, we wandered into what looked from the outside to be a warm romantic restaurant - and thankfully it was that and more!

We were seated at the front of restaurant with about 5 other smallish tables - there seemed to be lots of space further down the back of the restaurant where there may have been a different feel. In our section, the atmosphere was candlelit, looking over the bar, with a light buzz from a good combination of locals and tourists, friends and couples. The menu was in French, which was fine even for our limited french skills - and our waiter spoke exceptional english having lived a bit in Australia. All the wait staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic - I opted for the duck, nearly always a good choice in Paris. Although a couple of our wine choices weren't available, our waiter recommended a Cote de Rhone, which was excellent and its our new favourite wine even now we are home! The whole experience was delicious and we would come back again. This is exactly what you want in a relaxing Friday night out in Paris - good service, good food, great wine, and a restaurant with a lovely vibe.

This place was just around the corner from our apartment (Chatelet/Les Halles area) and we really enjoyed the food there. Most of the people dining/drinking/people watching were local Parisians. Prices are reasonable and the quality of food top notch. We took our young kids and the service was friendly, attentive, and timely. The duck and chocolate mousse was amazing.

We chose the place because it was close to our hotel and it looked a sweet one.
Quite dark but, being Friday, enough quite.
Service good and even if the menu is in French only the staff speak decent English.
Very good food on typical French style.Good wine.
Price in the average of 40 € each.
