Visited the hotel for the second time May 26th May 2014 and found it the same as we did in 2013, it is in a central location very easy to get to from Gare du Nord, there are plenty of places to eat that will suit all budgets. The staff were very helpful and friendly and were more than willing to help with any request.

I would/have recommended this hotel to my friends and family members.

I look forward to staying there again next year.

Recommended this hotel from a friend. Great location close Republique Metro stop which has links to every part of the city. Rooms are fairly big in comparison to others we stayed at, and clean. Our room had a king size bed. The staff was more then helpful and friendly. I can not say a bad thing about this hotel and the price was right. I suggest you pay the extra 10 Euro a night for the bigger bed. We had a light breakfast of coffee and pastry at the corner bakery for 2.50 each.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the larger bed. King size bed in room 50 over looking street

Affordable hotel, well located, close to the Place de la Republique. They have bicycles to borrow. Breakfast was OK, yet simple. I believe the hotel staff are the most friendly people in Paris. Would stay there again.

Ok so it's not the Ritz, but if you are looking for an affordable place to lay your head then you could do a lot worse. I have been here a couple of times and have always found the staff to be genial. The rooms are small but I don't go to Paris to stay in my room and (more importantly) they are clean, and the location, just off the Place de la République is great. A nice place.

Shame it was only 1 night !!!
Absolutely charming, nostalgic, room full of antiques. We had a twin room with ceiling beam. Love it!!!! You really can not find this type of decore in city hotel any longer. I hate ultra modern interiors. Beds was super comfy, they don't sink nor springy. wi-fi is free, and yet shower was super powerful and even had bath tub. Floor was not carpeted, which was great, wooden floor was so clean that I didn't have to take my slippers!
I just wish they keep this place just like this and do not update nor modernise like any other hotel.

Although they don't have a kettle in a room, but I knew that and brought one with me, so that we can make a cuppa, and even porridge for breakfast ! My friend was vegan so we didn't opt for their breakfast. Mirror in a room was a bit too high for us, we were both short Japanese... However, I absolutely adore this place, we walked along the canal to Buttes Caumont park, and had a lovely time. The genltlemen at the receptions are super friendly and helpful, they even kept our bags for us until we leave Paris. Locantion was great you are walking distance from 3 metro stations. Few mini supermarkets just few steps out, but not big ones.

Room Tip: The room we had gets very little lights, facing to mini court yard. If you are after outside light...

This hotel is very well located, the rooms are not very large but they are spacious for Paris standard, it's also very quiet, that's no so easy to find in Paris. The price is a bargain for the "ville lumiere", the staff is very friendly. We didn't eat the breakfast because there are plenty of good and cheaper "boulangerie" and "cafe" around. We were 2 adults and a 6 years old boy, very good stay.

Room Tip: very quiet location no problems

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our hotel is a small one with 23 rooms that are warm, cozy and attractively decorated. When our guests arrive, we give them a key to the entrance door to the hotel as well as a room key. Right away everyone feels at home or rather, in a guesthouse. Our rooms are all different, each one has its own style: Oriental, pop, empire, Pompei, and so on.... We take particular care with the breakfast, served in the basement with its old-fashioned stone ceiling. Our breakfast consists in croissants, the traditional baguette and whole-grain bread, made not by an industrial bakery but by our local baker. The jams are homemade, prepared by us using quality fruits. All the products we use are chosen and furnished by local shops. Our guesthouse is located in a central district animated by its residents. It is a popular district for Parisians that is famous for its picnics along the Canal Saint-Martin, its bars, its restaurants and small local shops. All around you will find many Parisian brands, boutiques, bookstores, and food stores. We have selected them and tested them before recommending them. For getting around in Paris we have bicycles that are freely available during your stay. This is also part of our approach. Whatever the reason for your visit to Paris, we hope you will appreciate the atmosphere of our guesthouse. ... more   less
