“Fabulous neighborhood rest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014

This gem is a must when you are in Paris and looking for a true neighborhood restaurant. Food very focused and extremely good, service great and the atmosphere with mostly Parisians is great. The wine list is no list, a sommelier selects the wine to your food and taste. during our week in Paris we had three meals at La Robe. Will be back next time in Paris.

“Lively French authentic restaurant”

La Robe et Le Palais

Our hotel recommended this place which was just around the corner. We thought it looked inviting . This was a true French restaurant full of locals (think we were the only Americans there). We were kindly greeted by Matthew a very happy waiter whom performs with wonderment. Matthew loves his job and it shows. We had more fun watching his interactions with all of his clientele. Mathew was very happy to suggest dishes to us, something I did not experience much in France. We first split a fromage and chatseerie (cheese and meat) platter that was an epicurean delight. Matthew explained it all with enthusiasm . Next came my wonderful plate of scallops done to perfection accompanied with wine. My boyfriend had the Lamb stew which he savored every morsel. Overall a great traditional restaurant that we will return to in a heartbeat.Ask for Matthew and watch the show.

“Light Snack & Wine”

One of our first stops for a light lunch, and although the seating is in very close quarters, the atmosphere and the staff are great.

“Yes. Definitely!”

Small, french restaurant/wine bar close to chatelet. They serve tradicional french cuisine with the smile, really! Awesome service, food and wine suggestion. The prices are really OK. Try onde of their "planches" as a starter and trust their wine suggestions according to your budget. Relax and enjoy!

“The English visitor's veiw”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 February 2014

A superb start to a brief trip to Paris. We wanted a real French dinner and we got that. An uncompromising menu that did not concede a single dish to the tourist trade. Having arrived late we were given the last table by the door. Tables are tightly packed together and waiters squeeze in and out with delicious looking plates of proper French cuisine for the almost entirely local diners. Needless to say our meals were very good. Particularity the terrine, the veloute and the salmon salad. The chocolate fondant with mango sorbet was superb and the chocolate inside did indeed whoooosh over the plate as predicted by our waiter.
If you do happen upon this eatery I would advise patience with the service. It took a little while for the waiters get to us and when they did our Campari and soda was not delivered. But boy were they busy ! When it was our turn to order the service was delightfully charming, helpful and prompt.
The wine waiter has a rather unique style, He questions you as to your tastes and delivers his recommendation. He was spot-on with his choice for us, a Sauvignon from the Loire. However we didn't find out the cost until we got the bill and in my opinion it was about 10E over-priced. Hey I'm on holiday. I let it go. Would prefer a wine list. After all reading a list full of wonderful wines is part of the dining experience. Even if you end up choosing a bottle that suits the pocket rather than the taste buds. Or is that not French?
Whatever........ La Robe et le Palais is thoroughly Recommended !
