“5 floors without lift”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

The location is very good and staff was friendly and helpful. But be informed the building is very narrow without lift. Stairs are old and narrow, up to 5 floor... It's very uncomfortable if you have any problem with walking. I'm a bit confused if it's name is Karraz hotel or Appart hotel. I had trouble to identify the hotel outside and "lobby room" was strange. But the room and staff was ok.

made reservation for "family unit". arrived early with daughter and granddaugher in lobby with me. told room ready in 30 minutes, when asked for restroom for wife all of a sudden the family unit was only reserved for one person. had been no issue when clearly three of us were in lobby. they now wanted a rate from 109 euros to 199 euros per night, although may have been misunderstanding they made it clear it was my error and were not flexible or accomodating although cold and rainy, when they refused offer to pay 150, got to point where they challenged me to find lower rate than 199 which i did at a much better and more secured location very near by- the agorda. it did cost me one night stay but was not going to stay at place with profit ahead of satisfaction. they were clearly playing with the thought there was no alternative.

If you don't mind basic and rather scruffy accommodation, the Hotel Karraz is great. It's situated in the city centre, minutes from the metro / train station (which has a direct train to / from CDG airport). The surrounding area is stuffed full of restaurants and cafes of every type imaginable and many attractions (Notre Dame, Louvre, Pompidou Centre) are within 15 minutes walk.

The room itself is described as an appartment. This means you get a fridge and small stove (but really, you don't come to Paris to self cater). It also means the bedding and towels are never changed and there's no soap or shampoo provided. Having said that, the owner was very friendly and spoke great English. There's some renovation work ongoing, so maybe the rooms will be slightly less shabby soon.

Overall, I'd recommend the hotel - rather basic, but superb location.

Great Location for the price. Paris is very expensive so if you just want a place to sleep with out the trimmings this is ideal. The owner was very helpful and friendly, you can walk to most attractions from here, and there are restaurants very close by ,the stairs would be hard on those who are unfit and the place was a bit hard to find, but overall we were happy enough and a fridge in the room was fantastic.

Good location, free wifi, nice staff but the room is abit of disappointment for the price. We found a mouse in a room, staff is rarely at the hotel, the stove is not working well. Decoration in the room is look like something that cost 50 euro a night or less.
Abit of the improvement would be great.
