“Good local restaurant and value-for-money”
Reviewed 3 September 2013 via mobile

We booked for a Sunday lunch (it was reassuringly busy) after reading a review from an old Routard. Yes, the management had changed but we had a very good meal on the whole. Popular with locals in this residential district not far from beautiful Parc Monceau, service was quick and pleasant. Dishes are the staples of bistro cooking but better to go for meat dishes (excellent magret de canard) as the fish (red mullet) was overcooked. Tables are close together and so if you enjoy chatting to locals, this will appeal. Romantic couples looking for an intimate soiree might be better advised to look elsewhere! Excellent value-for-money menu at 24 euros at the weekend.

“Real French atmosphere”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Found this place while out walking back from Opera area and decided to try one evening as it gave impression of a more "local" restaurant. We arrived on spec and managed to get the second to last table on a Wednesday evening! Just three very busy guys front of house and they were also catering for a biggish party and managed to accommodate a lot more people sitting outside (I think we were the only tourists). Great atmosphere even though we spoke little French and they little English but really friendly and good food (nice steak and creme brulee) - 3 course set meal €24 which with a pitcher of wine, coffee and one brandy came to €69. Much cheaper and more relaxed than the pretentious places nearer to main landmarks.

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed 26 April 2013

I had dinner yesterday at Le Petit Villiers and I was extremely disappointed by both the food and the service, especially as I used to really like this restaurant when I lived in Paris a few years ago. I can't believe a restaurant serving such bad food can still attract customers.

“A true local experience”
Reviewed 27 March 2013

After leaving a highly-ranked bistro around the corner for being treated rudely (seated by ourselves in the back even though there were plenty of tables open in front, no explanations given, attitude when we asked questions) we headed for this bistro recommended to us by the couple we are renting an apartment from in the 17th. We got there early, as recommended. We were greeted warmly, served by 2 very busy, but pleasant male servers, and even the proprietor. Set menu was 24 Euro. Caesar and Bleu Cheese salads, duck, fish, and lamb followed by mousse and ice cream. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed the wine recommendation. Even though we were surrounded by locals, we were not treated as tourists, except that they spoke to us in English, and we even had a conversation with one server about his time in NYC.
