Not located in town, but is a very nice hotel, with good service. Rooms are very spacious and very clean and tidy. There is a good bar open until about 11 pm, but bar service can be lacking lacking later in the evening. Standard type of breakfast.

The hotel is waterside at the Bassin de la Vilete a formerly very active Barge Canal in the northeastern section of PARIS. The canal locks and drawbridges still operate occasionally for pleasure boats. A few hundred yards from a Subway stop which will take you to to most downtown locations (like the Louvre) within 10 minutes or so.

Room Tip: Small but comfortale rooms

Being fooled by tripadvisor's 4/5 rating I booked into this cave for 4 days during summer (aug/sep-2013). 1) The only source of light in the room comes from beside the bed, which is around 30cm from the floor and has a 2) no more then 10cm thick matress. The 3) towels (for two persons we got two of them, same for bath, hands, face...) must have been used by mr. Bonaparte himself. Old, corroded, would not absorb any water from the shower, which was not bad in fact, but the claustrophobic "bath cell" has such a bad exaustion, and the separated 4) "toilet cell" is aaawfully smal and tight. Yesterday the water stoped flowing as I was brushing my teeth and today it was off for over 8.. 9 hours, from 11am at least until 8pm. By the way it is very hot here and 5) the air conditioning wont work at all, not even circulating air. I tried to call the reception but 6) there is no phone in the room and I went there around 9pm throught the 7) (really) bad smelling corridors and elevator, waited for like 20 minutes but there was only the security guy who was watching TV and murmured I should wait. There is 8) also no way to get a bottle of water in the hotel this night because the vending machine is empty. Despite being on the 5th floor I opened the window and cigarrette smoke flooded the room. Ah! the breakfast! 9) No fruits, no fresh juice, no mineral water, no ham, sausage, bacon, eggs.. Some corn flakes, a coffee machine, some baguettes, a nice simple cheese, nice simple croissants! Some jelly. I suggest getting something to eat somewhere around the hotel. I am leaving this nightmare in 5 hours. Thank god!

Excellent Hotel, clean, quiet, reasonably priced. We got a big room facing the canal, with air conditioning, free wi-fi. Breakfast is buffet, I would say basic but plenty and testy. Hotel has a underground parking and for your local trips, the subway is very closed.

Room Tip: Sooner you book the better.

The hotel is in a great location, right on the la villette. Great area if you are active as they have numerous walking and biking paths. The metro was not far away, we used crimee station vs. riquet to get around as we felt it was closer and less on la fayette street hustle and bustle. Hotel itself was pleasant, we were upgraded as I am a priority member, the standard rooms look a bit small so we were grateful for the suite. Had an issue with the shower drain which was taken care of the next day. Breakfast was good but the sheer amount of people trying to eat at the same time is a turn off. Definitely go before 9 am if you can. One lady tried to hijack our cutlery while we were standing in line, so its a bit like a zoo after 9 am. Wished they exchanged money at the desk, I didn't have any euros smaller than 20 note and wanted to get drinks from the vending machine, which wouldn't have mattered because they stop working after a certain time of the night. We ended up buying little juice bottles at the grocery the next day and left them by the windows to keep cool because there is no microwave, fridge or ice box. I sprained my ankle and had to ask the bartender for a bag of ice. Wish we had more control of the air, we didn't want to open the windows to keep cool while it was raining. The outside walkway on each floor was locked off. It would have been nice to go for a stroll.

The housekeeper was to be desired, my face mask and blanket were repeatedly on the floor when we came back from sightseeing. and she didn't come the second day, we had to get new towels and clothes from the front desk, because they wouldn't bring them to the room. Overall it was a nice experience, I think a bit overpriced to say they don't have standard amenities of a holiday inn express .

Room Tip: Arrive a bit before check in and ask for a canal view

The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and is good value for Paris. The rooms are typical of a holiday inn, the beds are comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms are clean. The breakfast buffet is again basic but plentiful. Our only complaint is that we had a sleepless first night as our room (319) was situated over a bar which is situated on the ground floor of the hotel - we were kept awake with thumping techno music until 2am - it was a Sunday night so goodness knows how late it goes on until on Fridays and Saturdays! We complained the next morning and the hotel moved us for our second night on the same floor, but further down the corridor and we were not disturbed. The area is great and almost opposite to the hotel there are 2 buzzing cafe/bistros which serve fantastic food and not a tourist in sight apart from us!

Room Tip: Check that your room is away from the noisy bar - we were on the third floor and still disturbed by...

loved this hotel, reasonably priced, clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.....we got a room with a canal-facing view which was lovely plus it was a good size and there was plenty of room for my toddler to run around. the breakfast gave a good start to the day and there were plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. its situated in a residential area but close to the metro so getting around to places was not at all a problem....cant fault this place
