Description: La Casa Pepe restaurant in Paris' ancient and touristic rue Mouffetard brings all the passion and joy of Spain to the heart of Paris' left bank. Inside, a village street is recreated, with plaster walls, curved terra cotta tiled roofs, and barrels of fino, but there's also a bull's head, lots of artefacts and artworks, bright red table linens, and country style chairs. Each evening, gregarious patron Toni and his compadres entertain you with guitars and singing, laughter and dances. The menu is classic, authentic Iberian cuisine, including tapas, paellas, meat and fish dishes and more. Great, great ambience and super service make this a fun night out.

A friend recommended this place to me as a "must go there place" and since it is in my neighborhood I gave it a try. We ordered paella thinking that any Spanish restaurant should do this reasonably well. The food was average. Wine unremarkable. Nothing to make me want to go back. The entertainment was charming but not enough to make up for the food.

Musicians are playing music the whole time and the it is extremely loud... and the quality is not as high as its volume! :-S
They don't accept "ticket restaurant" in the evening (!!!??!!) and the cashier had absolutely no coins left to give the money back :-(
The staff is very machist, you have to stop speaking at some point to listen to their non-funny jokes.
We wanted to share some paellas (like people do in Spain), and got told that it was compulsory to order a dish per person... and we had already ordered lots of tapas, etc. besides the dishes. I definitely don't recommend that place.

Paella and Fun? This is the place! Situated in the Latin"village", narrow streets and fun filled surrounding. casa Pepe is a place not to be missed.
Spanish song and Dance while you are served with tapas, spanish ham and pitcher after pithcer of Sangria. Good performers, singers and guitarist plus of course the soloist who owns the restaurant. Unique decors! Don't worry if u feel too tight and crowed, once u come in, it's like one group! To top food are deliciouso!

Authentic Spanish paellas, better than many of the one's served in Spain. The staff is very friendly and we got a few songs and poems from Pepe himself (the owner). Had a lot fun whilst enjoying fine wine and listening to live music (there were Spanish guitar duos playing all night). Their Spanish wine selection is quite good. As most Spanish restaurants do, some walls are lined with photos and Spanish parafernalia (check the basement area!) which gives it a great look.

One of my favorite nights out in Paris isn't actually very French at all. At number 5, rue Mouffetard (a great street for walking and exploring on the Left Bank), you will find a bit of Spain tucked into the Heart of Paris! The restaurant is named Casa Pepe and it is a quiet, unassuming storefront with a big heart.

The tables are generally fairly close together, but with the jovial attitude that permeates everything from the food to the ambiance, you somehow don't mind rubbing elbows with a total stranger! The food is traditional Spanish fare-- I highly recommend both their paellas and their tapas platters. The great addition, though, is the entertainment! For an extremely reasonable rate, you not only get a great, relaxing meal, but also dueling guitars, singing, and traditional Spanish dancing. The later in the evening it is, the more all-encompassing the entertainment, so if you're looking for a quieter night, stop by on the earlier side (they're open til 2am!).

My only complaint (and it truly is the only complaint-- I really love this spot!) is that the dueling guitars are from time-to-time just beside your ear and it can be a little overwhelming. They generally look for non-verbal cues, however, and move fairly quickly if you don't look like you're enjoying it.
