Description: La Casa Pepe restaurant in Paris' ancient and touristic rue Mouffetard brings all the passion and joy of Spain to the heart of Paris' left bank. Inside, a village street is recreated, with plaster walls, curved terra cotta tiled roofs, and barrels of fino, but there's also a bull's head, lots of artefacts and artworks, bright red table linens, and country style chairs. Each evening, gregarious patron Toni and his compadres entertain you with guitars and singing, laughter and dances. The menu is classic, authentic Iberian cuisine, including tapas, paellas, meat and fish dishes and more. Great, great ambience and super service make this a fun night out.

“Bad food and the paella is a rip off..”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

We were a group of six. The starters were awful, the bread was too old to be consumed and the food taste in general was a disaster.

This was truly the worst restaurant we have ever been to in Paris, and we have been to lots. They know their customers are mainly tourists and they care less whether they come back or not.

Every one of us ordered a sea food paella platter. Instead, we were surprised to be served a bowl of paella that we were supposed to share. The bowl barely feeds 3 persons but the waiters all insisted that it is for six people. To make things even worse, instead of charging us a fixed price for the bowl, they charged us the price of six platters of paella. This is clearly a rip off and a tourist scam.

We will never set foot there ever again.

“Great Spanish Food & Atmosphere”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Locateted in the heart of the Latin Quarter in busy , bustiling Rue Mouffettard , Casa Pepe not only delivers high quality traditional Spanish cuisine , but also provides an enjoyable entertainment , with guitar players , singers, and even a charming Flamenco dancer. You'll be submerged by the joyous ambience , and delighted by the feast of flavours and aromas . I recommend the typical Paella and the delicious fried calamari/ squids. Olè for Casa Pepe and the entire staff, friendly ( a Parisian oddity ) and willing to help.

“Lovely Spanish food in Paris”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

Tired of French food, my husband and I asked for a restaurant recommendation at our hotel. This led us to Casa Pepe. We arrived at 7pm on a Sunday and were the first ones there. By 8pm it was full. Not a lot of English was spoken, so we switched to Spanish and did just fine. We started with the shrimp in olive oil with garlic which was delicious. We both had a paella for dinner. There were several types on the menu, but they gladly threw in whatever we each wanted. The portions were large and both of our paellas were quite good.

Service was leisurely but we were not in a rush. Around 8pm, a couple of guys started playing the guitar and singing traditional Spanish songs. It was a lively, entertaining night. I would certainly recommend Casa Pepe for a break from French food.
