Went to visit the Palace while staying in Paris unfortunately the queues where horrendous so didnt get to go inside. But its still worth a visit just to see the palace from the gates stunning. And the town is beautiful to walk around an have a bite to eat or a coffee.

What an amazing place!! Unbelievable opulence, room after room in this stunning palace. It was really busy so it was not possible to stop and look at everything there was to see before moving on to the next spectacle.

In our trip to Europe, this was by far our least favorite site to visit. We've been to many places prior to here on our 4 week trip in Europe. The line lived up to the reputation and we were in line for security for nearly 2 hours under the intense burning sun. When inside, a lot of rooms were empty. The hardwood floors were in paltry condition. The organization of the ticket checkers were horrible. Signage is poor for directions on where to line up for entrance, bathrooms, versus buying tickets. The garden was not impressive. Fountain musical show was pathetic for extra 9 Euros. Palace should be nicer for what they charge. Sorry Versailles, I was expecting a lot better.

Apart from the queues & the crowds once inside this is a fantastic place to visit & not expensive. The rooms are extravagantly decorated as you would expect from a monarch of that time & as you move from room to room you realise why there was a revolution.
From a modern day point of view it is well worth a visit & the gardens are a sight to see.

Rooms with no furniture, no historical details, only paintings of unknown courtiers.
three interesting rooms with beds in them and three very big rooms with chandeliers and pictures. It was very uninteresting, very uninformative, very crowded, and we saw a tiny part of the palace only. Very few genuinely historical artefacts; the rooms were quite bare. there are far nicer places to visit if you want to see a palace.
