The Palace of Versailles was a truly grand experience. From the enormous and magnificent gardens, which in itself could easily take hours to explore, to the well thought out guided audio tours which is included in the palace tour, it is definitely a unique adventure. Just make sure you purchase timed tickets in advance to your visit, as this will help you skip the lines. The lineup to purchase tickets for the palace looked pretty dreadful even in May, so I cannot imagine how they'd be during high season. Worth the one hour trek from central Paris!

We booked the 1:00pm smallest 1.5 hour Viatours Skip The Line Tour only to GET IN quicky which was the best part of tour. The crowds were claustraphobic so highly recommend.

However, once we were in, it was about 12-15 people which is way too big. We could not keep up with our guide even with audiophones which did not have a good amount of distance to hear well.

Versailles more than made up for it! Nobody can NOT be impressed by this place. The Gardens were equally impressive. The enclosed outdoor restaurant all the way in the back was so lovely and charming.

No wonder there was a Revolution and they were beheaded. Way too greedy.

Versailles is a MUST! But arrive at EVERY tour in Paris when they open.

Power and wealth drip from the walls. It is little wonder that the peasants weren't impressed by the extravagance of their royals but it is hard not to be by the architectural legacy that they left us.

Spectacular, historic and magnificent! The landscape was amazing and extremely beautiful. The architecture of the palace was also beautiful. There is a giant lake, fountain, many trees, beautiful gardens and numerous paths to walk.
One visit is not enough to see everything...will definitely come back one day:)))
