“Quiet bliss”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2010

This hotel is perfect for two things: Seeing the Versailles palace, and for relaxing. Located right next to the Versailles palace it is the perfect base for exploring the palace and gardens. Some people may find it too quiet, but that is because it is the perfect place to relax near Paris. If you look at the list of famous guests, you see that they came here to unwind in a quiet place centrally located in Europe. It is still a very good place to relax.

We stayed in a large suite in the palace part of the hotel which was very stylish, clean and had a beautiful bathroom. There were all the services you would need, even a kettle and ipod docking station, plus a very expensive mini bar which we avoided! The children slept in very comfortable beds that were made up in the sitting area and had their own TV with CBBC channel which they were delighted about. We played tennis and enjoyed walking around the grounds but didn't get round to using the indoor pool. Breakfast was a bit disappointing as we had to wait a while for our table and the service was fairly non-existent but it was included in the special promotional rate of 400E for the suite. If we had had to pay extra we might have been more annoyed.

The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk to the main part of Versailles with its shops and restaurants - there are lots of places to eat. The Palace of Versailles is closed on Mondays as are many of the shops which is probably why we got such a reasonable rate for a luxurious suite but we really chose it as a stop off on our way back to London. Would definitely stay again.

just back from a trip to celebrate our anniversary and i booked this hotel for a bit of luxury.its very impressive on arrival... beautiful buildings and grounds and located right next to the gardens of the chateau.free parking in the underground car park. check in was very efficient and staff very courteous. the hotel has two main buildings, the palace and the pavillion side.....we stayed in the pavillion which was fine, i would imagine rooms in the palace side would be alot more expensive. our room was a very good size and a good bathroom... all very clean and comfortable. our rate included breakfast which had a great selection and was served in the lovely rooms in the palace side. the gordon ramsay restaurant was closed for the month of august , but i dont know if i could have afforded it anyway. we did eat in the veranda restaurant (book early as its busy), didnt enjoy it as much as some of the other restaurants we ate in on this trip. the main courses didnt live up to what we expected from such an elegant place but it certainly wasnt all bad ... we may have just chosen badly ...belly pork was salty bacon and salmon served under cooked to my taste. other than this we did enjoy our stay. the pool facilities were also very good. the concierge was very helpful when it came to booking trips... useful to know that there is a small ticket office for the chateau near the side entrance if you havent booked online.... saves alot of queueing at main office. visiting versailles chateau and grounds is well worth the trip.
overall this is a lovely hotel and worth a visit if you get the right rate... we considered staying a third night but on enquiring about the price it wasnt an option.

the food service tonight in the cafe was very bad. The room was too hot and the Garcon must have been asleep.

We stayed here for only two nights, but wished that we could have stayed longer. The rooms are beautiful and you are right down the walk from the Chateau. We were able to walk all over the grounds and had a wonderful time. The staff was VERY helpful. They were nice, attentive...Just wonderful. We did upgrade to a suite (an option on the internet that you can choose) because one was available for an additional charge. It was well worth it, too, since we were travelling with five people and had two rooms. My next visit to Paris will definitely include a stay here! My only warning would be that the spa and pool are underground...You must go down steps (or elevator) to get there. My husband and kids went swimming, but it was too small of a space for me! They said the pool was beautiful, though!

we have been three times to the trainon, the first time was wonderful the staff were very polite and helpful

the second time the hotel had changed hands and was under another chain.
reception was poor, the room offered was unacceptable. we had to further upgrade
(we had already paid for an upgrade) the room still was available for a further hour
or so. we advised the hotel staff that we were only there for three days and that we had
planned to use our arrival day to persue sight seeing but we wanted to shower and change. we were told to take our cases and use the spa facilities downstairs.don't think
it was appropriate.

third time, reception poor and unhelpful, asked if we had a loyalty card we answered
yes, were told that we had not got one as there was none on the system. luckily we had it with us. once again the room was not ready and we had to wait another hour before it was prepared. we had to sit in reception, after a while we returned back to reception
advising that we were unhappy, once again wasting our precious visiting time. we were given a complimentary drink?

hotel beautiful and although we only stayed in the pavillion, and not up grading, we found
the pavillion side much quieter.

we will still return to the trianon again
