Having been on an excellent Camargue cruise out of St Maries-De-La-Mer a couple of days earlier I was hoping for more of the same. Seeing the "recommended by Tripadvisor" sticker made me think I might have chosen wisely - but not so. The trip starts slowly down the canal that links Aigues-Mortes with Grau-Du-Roi, taking about 45 minutes to do so. Having travelled that strip several times on both bus and train I'd already had a better view of what was on offer. Nothing is really very close - even the flamingoes were further away than you'd see from the bus when it goes to the Ecole in G-D-R. You then turn onto another canal, and not much improves - I even had to prompt the guide when the one wildlife specimen at close range - an egret - was almost missed. The English notes handed out are passable, although they give little warning of the fact the boat will stop and you'll get off to see a "rodeo". Its easy enough to work out what is going to happen, as some tame bulls are herded by a few locals on horseback. One of the bulls even came to the fence to be "petted" after the demonstration.
The trip was longer than advertised - about 2 and three-quarter hours - something to note if you have a train to catch.
