Le Trivalou is a lovely small restaurant just up the slope from the "old bridge". We found the menu offered a good selection, and after having eaten in other places the quality was as good if not better than some which struggled to justify their high prices.
We found the service very good and friendly ( they didn't laugh out loud at my school boy French). the food was simply delicious !
I think that says it all really - highly reccomended.

We hit Le Trivalou on our way to Carcassonne medieval city and had a good lunch when it was needed. Local speciality is the cassoulet, a stew with duck leg and sausage with beans. An interesting traditional course, glad to have tasted it, but I would not have it again too soon. Fried fish was accepted by our seafood expert. Nothing too special, sound quality, reasonable prices.

This is what you hope to find in France and so often don't - a backstreet resto that feels like an extension of the family kitchen. The welcome is warm, the food simple and delicious, the wine well priced and local, the surroundings simple. We had an excellent meal, and experience. But beware. If you go for the (wonderful) cassoulet (and why wouldn't you in this part of the world?) you will eat little else for some considerable time!

We would not have found this place but for tripadvisor and are so glad we did. It is very small, just six tables outside and probably a similar number inside. A short but perfect menu! Very reasonable decent wine. Friendly and efficient service. We enjoyed this more than a meal the previous evening at twice the price! Highly recommended.

The food was simple but very well done. The menu is not expansive but what they do is excellent as is the service. It's not a large place so at weekends you may need to book. We went on a Sunday night and there were tables available. Very reasonable prices - great place not to be missed. Creme brûlée with lavender was amazing!!!!
