We had (late) reservations for dinner at the Adelaïde Restaurant, on arrival we had to wait a bit for our table to get ready, but the patron gave us two complimentary kir (white wine & creme de cassis) at the bar, so we didn't mind at all.

Anyhow it was very busy (even though we were there in low/shoulder season at the end of April) so reservations are definitely recommended.

We had the set menu (the more expensive one for 24.50€) and that turned out to be a very good deal. For starters we had the smoked salmon, which was ok (standard salmon really), the beef carpaccio and salad were great. For mains we had three pepper pork steaks and duck breast tournedos and both were excellent. Dessert was pana cotta and a red fruit crumble with chocolate sauce, really good again.

We tried the white and red house wines and both were good value for little money.

The service was attentive without being bothersome. The bread was delicious and promptly filled up, when we ran out if it, without us having to say anything. The patron apparently runs a tight ship.

English menu. No Amex accepted but Visa & Master ok.

Would go again.

we went to this restaurant on the recommendation of the owner of our B & B and we did not regret this decision! We made a reservation at 6pm for 7 o'clock service- there were 2 settings from memory: either 7pm or 8:30pm. We chose the 7pm setting and we got a good seat with great view of the cathedral. The food was very good- we chose the set menu because we wanted to try authentic southern French food. The the waiter who was taking the order made us felt hurried though- something to be improved. We did not speak very good french and we had some questions but the waiter who was taking our order was not very helpful but that could also because of the language barrier. All the other waiter and waitress were lovely. All in all, it was a solid restaurant with very good price. Would recommend to anyone dining in La Cite.

We have eaten in a few restaurants in la cite and this was by far the best. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. There are 2 set menus one at €16.00 and at €24.00 with plenty of choice. We will definitely go back again before our holidays ends.

The staff are great, and the menu is excellent and varied although short. The local wines were very good and the quality and presentation of the dishes was excellent. I have no problem makin recommendations, because it's an honest deal. You get what you pay for! Enough said.

Three days in Carcassonne and this was the best of the lot. We had read good reviews so thought it was prudent to make a reservation, which we did at around 6pm, when the restaurant was completely empty. We left for a couple of sharpeners and returned just before 8pm and we were very glad to have made the reservation - the place was packed outside on the terrace. We took the set menu and everything was excellent. No fault to be found here at all. Service great, wine recommendation from the lower end of the price scale (always a good sign). It was our last night otherwise we'd have been back for more. Very highly recommended in a lovely location.
