Owner Beatrice is a most charming hostess, attentive to her guests' every comfort. We stayed at her delightful B&B for three nights in early June. Our large room was immaculate and spotless; the bathroom contained all the amenities. Beatrice presented an excellent breakfast with the freshest pastries and fruits. She also offered refreshments in the afternoons upon our return from a day of sightseeing.
We can't praise her accommodations more highly. Nor have we met a more caring and gracious hostess.

We really loved Maison en Toscane, it was a real pleasure to stay here.
http://maison.toscane.free.fr/

It was only our 3rd time in a B&B and only decided to stay in Carcassonne to break up our trip from Nice to Bordeaux. So we weren't too sure what to expect.

It was just like you see in the website, we had the large room Chambre Buis, and it was a very large room.
The B&B is located right outside the Castle wall, and we walked into the Castle for dinner and a look around.

The rooms are:
- Warm (it was cold when we were there).
- Dark room at night (great for me, or if you want more light open up the sky-light blind a bit for a few night stars).
- Very clean.
- Spaceous.
- Fabulous decor.
- Nice fresh breakfast.

The host is wonderful, speaks English, and is very helpful if you want to book something.
She even gave us a gift when we left.
It was so nice to relax here, and I would love to return oneday...we loved the fact we found this place and are sure you will too.

PS. Don't do the cheesey little train tour at the castle, it goes around the outside of the castle in a loop and then that's it...thank's for your money suckers!

This is a great B&B and i would recommend it for rooms, breakfast and location. Room was very spacious, light and airy. great bathroom with walk-in shower. very nice breakfast which could be tailored to you liking and had in your room if you wanted. Absolutely no issue with cats - there is one that lives in the house but is not allowed in the rooms and we had no problems with smell or anything.

location is at the foot of the walls to cite and a nice walk either into cite through various gates or into bastide over Roman bridge. Best time to visit cite is when day trip crowds have gone and you can have the place to yourself. lots of good value resultants if a little touristy - but then we were tourists! would recommender Saturday food market in bastide, grab what you fancy and head for a walk along canel du midi for a picnic - most enjoyable especially if you remember some wine!

Carcassone is a good place to visit, 2 days is all you need to see everything.

We chose to stay here from the recommendations of other Tripadvisor visitors however we cannot believe the comments that are listed. Firstly, whilst the owner is very charming and friendly, she does not even live on the premises but disappears after she has shown you the roon etc and then reappears in the morning with the breakfast. If there was a fire or any problem goodness knows what would happen because she did not even give us a contact number or any way of finding her. The bedrooms are fairly well appointed the downfall being that the whole place stinks of cats and cats urine. The downstairs living room / kitchen was where some of the cats lived and they were constantly meowing to be let out. Our bedroom was above this room and the smell was unbearable and seemed to permeate through the floorboards, making even our own clothes hanging in the 'open' wardrobe smell.
On arrival we were told to drive our car in to the garage - the next morning when we went to leave there was a dirty white sheet spread all over my vehicle and cats had been sleeping on it all night. The smell of cat 'spray' in my car made both my wife and I gag and we were both nearly sick!! It has taken days since to rid my car of the smell.
If you don't like cats / the smell of cats urine or tom-cat spray then avoid this place like the plague.
Carcassonne is ok but I do'nt think it's worth staying the night here - an afternoon is plenty of time to see everyting worth seeing.

This charming B&B was fantastic in every sense. Our children loved staying here - playing on the grass behind the B&B and with a couple of local cats. The beds were comfortable. The sleeping area and the bathroom are spacious. A wardrobe and some drawer space to put our clothes. Breakfast was good and fresh. The owner was super helpful, accommodating and very pleasant. Parking was available onsite. Although not within the walls of La Cite, it was a short (but uphill - as it would be from almost anywhere) walk. There is even a shortcut path from the B&B. Pont Vieux was very close, too. Keep in mind there are steps to get to the rooms and there is no elevator. We highly recommend this B&B.

We stayed here for a week just before the Easter break. Beatrice, the owner, is the most lovely, helpful and friendly lady we've had the pleasure to meet in France! She couldn't do enough for us and she made staying in her beautiful house a personal and truely pleasurable experience.
She picked us up from the airport and took us back there for our fight home, which took all the stress out of finding it.
The house is tucked away in one of the backstreets of Carcasonne very close to La Cite. It's decorated with tasteful, traditional pieces of French furniture but also has all the modern features you'd expect from a boutique hotel, such as extreamely comfortable beds, a good shower/walk in wet room, contemporary fittings, air conditioning etc.
Breakfast was a delicous mix of local produce which she tailors to your own personal taste if you'd like something special. She also provides tea, coffee and cakes after a day out sightseeing.
I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

I want to keep this litte gem to myself but since it's already in TA.... I'll just say this: perfect in every way. Can't wait to go back. Re: previous comments about cats... I'm allergic to cats and they didn't bother me at all while staying here. Madame keeps the B&B spotless.
